P-005 Predictors for large vessel recanalization before stroke thrombectomy
ConclusionsIVT at least 1.5 hours before angiography, site of vascular occlusion, atrial fibrillation, and hyperlipidemia are independent predictors for LVR. The 8-point Recan score proposed in this study may be a valuable tool for predicting LVR before EVT.Abstract P-005 Figure 1Disclosures H. Chen: None. M. Colasurdo: None. C. Schrier: None. M. On Hoofs and Zebras – Struma Ovarii
A 75-year-old mother of ten suffering from a urinary tract infection developed macrohematuria and therefore an abdominal ultrasound was performed, followed by a CT scan when an unexpected large pelvic mass was discovered. Past history included hypertension, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, and remote history of minor stroke (on candesartan, dabigatran, bisoprolol); bilateral chronic lymphedema; and hysterectomy due to prolapse at the age of 40. Imaging revealed nephrolithiasis and a prominent left adnexal mass suspected as ovarian cancer.

Doppler flow morphology characteristics of epiaortic arteries in aortic valve pathologies: a retrospective study on a cohort of patients with ischemic stroke
ConclusionsWell defined, qualitative Doppler flow characteristics detectable in the CCA and ICA are highly predictive for aortic valve disease. The consideration of these flow characteristics can be useful to streamline diagnostic and therapeutic measures, especially in the outpatient setting.

Large Left Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm Presenting as an Embolic Stroke After a "Silent" Myocardial Infarction
Tex Heart Inst J. 2023 Mar 1;50(2):e227922. doi: 10.14503/THIJ-22-7922.ABSTRACTA 72-year-old woman with no history of coronary artery disease presented with an acute left middle cerebral artery stroke and was found to have a large left ventricular pseudoaneurysm measuring 8.7 × 7.6 cm and 2 large left ventricular thrombi, the source of her systemic embolization. Despite initial medical management, she developed refractory New York Heart Association functional class III heart failure, uncontrolled atrial fibrillation, and further enlargement of her pseudoaneurysm to 5.5 × 10.6 × 9.2 cm. She underwent urgent aneurysmectom...

Stroke profile and care during the COVID-19 pandemic: What changed and what did not? A prospective cohort from Joinville, Brazil
This study aims to investigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on stroke profile and care in Joinville, Brazil.MethodsA prospective population-based cohort enrolled the first-ever cerebrovascular events in Joinville, Brazil, and a comparative analyzes was conducted between the first 12 months following COVID-19 restrictions (starting March 2020) and the 12 months just before. Patients with transient ischemic attack (TIA) or stroke had their profiles, incidences, subtypes, severity, access to reperfusion therapy, in-hospital stay, complementary investigation, and mortality compared.ResultsThe profiles of TIA/stroke patients...

A Cohort Study on the Safety and Efficacy of Warfarin and Rivaroxaban in Anticoagulant Therapy in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Study
CONCLUSION: Compared with warfarin, rivaroxaban anticoagulant therapy has the same advantage in tolerance and prevention of thromboembolism in patients with AF, but rivaroxaban can effectively reduce the risk of bleeding in patients with AF.PMID:35845939 | PMC:PMC9283039 | DOI:10.1155/2022/4611383

Endothelial dysfunction predicted cardiovascular events in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation
CONCLUSION: In patients with paroxysmal AF, endothelial dysfunction was associated with composite cardiovascular events. Flow-mediated dilation was a significant predictor of cardiovascular events in patients with paroxysmal AF.PMID:35830994 | DOI:10.15537/smj.2022.43.7.20220214
