Percutaneous left atrial appendage closure in AF using Amplatzer Cardiac Plug: First single center experience from India.
We report the first single center experience, from India, of percutaneous LAA closure with Amplatzer Cardiac Plug in 10 patients of non-valvular AF. These patients had contraindications for OAC or had high risk of bleeding or labile international normalized ratio (INR) on therapy. Prevalence, risk determinants and consequences of atrial fibrillation in rheumatic heart disease: 6 years hospital based-Himachal Pradesh- Rheumatic Fever/Rheumatic Heart Disease (HP-RF/RHD) Registry
Conclusion AF is common in RHD patients and is significantly associated with heart failure and systemic thromboembolism. Age, mitral stenosis severity, tricuspid regurgitation and LA size were independently associated with AF.

Early outcomes in patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting
ConclusionEarly outcome of off-pump CABG was excellent in this study. Increased incidence of deep sternal wound infection remains a concern. Multicenter study with a larger sample size is required for a dependable evaluation of the efficacy of off-pump CABG in Indian population.

Relation between high sensitivity c-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and thromboembolic risk markers assessed by echocardiography in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation(NVAF)
ConclusionHigh-sensitivity C-reactive protein( hs-CRP) ≥4.5 mg/dl level is suggested as inflammatory marker to predict the risk of thromboembolism in patients with non-valvular AF.
