Stroke prevention of thoracoscopic left atrial appendage clipping in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation at high risk of stroke and bleeding: study protocol for a non-randomised controlled clinical trial
Introduction Non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) is a high-risk factor for ischaemic stroke. The 2016 European Society of Cardiology Atrial Fibrillation Management guidelines recommend oral anticoagulants (OACs) to prevent stroke in men with CHA2DS2-VASc scores ≥2 and women ≥3. Effects of chronic disease diagnoses on alcohol consumption among elderly individuals: longitudinal evidence from China
Conclusion While CDDs reduced alcohol consumption among elderly Chinese individuals, they failed to stop all heavy drinkers from excessive drinking. Relevant policies and measures are thus needed to urge heavy drinking patients to quit excessive drinking.

Life satisfaction and its influencing factors of middle-aged and elderly stroke patients in China: a national cross-sectional survey
Conclusions Our study indicates the importance of improving the overall health of patients who had a stroke and mediating factors, such as pain management, and work ability, spouse and children relationship in improving the life satisfaction of patients in the poststroke rehabilitation.

Sex differences in outcomes after spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage among patients with low total cholesterol levels
CONCLUSIONS: Our study showed that there were no sex differences in clinical outcomes of patients with ICH and low TC levels, which suggests that the effect of low cholesterol as a risk factor for cerebral hemorrhage is the same on patients of different sexs. Association of cardiovascular diseases with milk intake among general Chinese adults.
CONCLUSIONS: Daily milk intake was associated with lower risk of CVD incidence and mortality in a linear inverse relationship. The findings provide new evidence for dietary recommendations in CVD prevention among Chinese adults and people with similar dietary pattern in other countries.
