Omega-3 fatty acids for the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease.
CONCLUSIONS: According to moderate- to high-certainty evidence, short-chain fatty acids and LCn3 have little or no effect on mortality or cardiovascular health. However, omega-3 ALA slightly reduces the risk of CVD events and arrhythmias. PMID: 33403957 [PubMed - in process]

Determinants of dysphagia following stroke
Conclusions:Among 15 factors evaluated, age, type of lesion and Brunnstrom ’s stages showed a significant association with the severity of dysphagia following stroke. This study advocates early dysphagia management for elderly patients with high Brunnstrom’s grading, for those who are not expected to spontaneously recover following stroke, and for earlier and better co mmunity rehabilitation. Prevalence, patterns and factors associated with hypertensive crises in Mulago hospital emergency department; a cross-sectional study

Multimorbidity and predictors of mortality among patients with cardiovascular disorders admitted to an intensive care unit: a retrospective study
Conclusions:There is a significant proportion of multimorbidity in our study population. Multimorbidity may be used as a criterion to prioritize and improve the management of patients. Measures to prevent cardiovascular disease in people who already have hypertension, diabetes or underlying causes of heart failure in primary care settings need to be emphasized.
