Correlation Between Carotid Intima Media Thickness and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
CONCLUSION: CIMT is increased in NAFLD patients. Increase in CIMT is significantly correlated with increasing grades of NAFLD. Hence CIMT can be used as screening tests in NALFD patients to assess cardiovascular risks.PMID:35443534

Analysis of Carotid Ultrasound Screening of High-Risk Groups of Stroke Based on Big Data Technology
J Healthc Eng. 2022 Jan 25;2022:6363691. doi: 10.1155/2022/6363691. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTIn order to understand detection of carotid atherosclerosis in the screening of high-risk stroke populations in a certain area of China, we have analyzed related risk factors of CAS. In accordance with the requirements of the "2015 Technical Plan for the Screening and Intervention Projects for High-Risk Stroke Populations," a cluster sampling method was used to select 4532 (number of screened persons from 2015 to 2021) permanent residents over 41 years old () in Shaheying Town, Liulin Town, Chenggu County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Pr...

Impact of maternal height, booking weight and gestational weight gain on cardiac adaptation in pregnancy
CONCLUSIONS: Women with greater booking weight have a pathological hemodynamic profile with high CO, PVR and MAP compared to those of lesser weight. Height is the main determinant of CO, SV, HR and PVR; weight is the main determinant of MAP and gestational weight gain is the second most important influencer for SV and PVR. Cardiovascular disease detection using machine learning and carotid/femoral arterial imaging frameworks in rheumatoid arthritis patients
AbstractThe study proposes a novel machine learning (ML) paradigm for cardiovascular disease (CVD) detection in individuals at medium to high cardiovascular risk using data from a Greek cohort of 542 individuals with rheumatoid arthritis, or diabetes mellitus, and/or arterial hypertension, using conventional or office-based, laboratory-based blood biomarkers and carotid/femoral ultrasound image-based phenotypes. Two kinds of data (CVD risk factors and presence of CVD —defined as stroke, or myocardial infarction, or coronary artery syndrome, or peripheral artery disease, or coronary heart disease) as ground truth, were co...
