Association of body mass index with COVID-19-related neurologic sequelae: a retrospective cohort study
This study demonstrates the absence of an association between BMI and neurologic manifestations following acute COVID-19 illness. Prospective studies using standardized data collection tools and direct measures of body fat are warranted to obtain more valid effect estimates.

Diagnostic imaging strategies of acute intracerebral hemorrhage in European academic hospitals —a decision-making analysis
ConclusionIn European clinical practices, existing guidelines for diagnostic imaging strategies in ICH evaluation are followed as a basis but in most cases, additional imaging investigation is undertaken. Significant differences in imaging workup were observed among the centers. Results suggest a high level of awareness and caution regarding potentially underlying pathology other than hypertensive disease.

Comparing treatment outcomes of various intracranial bifurcation aneurysms locations using the Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device
Conclusion To our knowledge, this is the most extensive study to date that compares the treatment of different intracranial bifurcation aneurysms using the WEB device. Basilar tip and ICA bifurcation aneurysms showed significantly higher rates of aneurysm occlusion than other locations.

Bifurcation geometry remodelling of vessels in de novo and growing intracranial aneurysms: a multicenter study
Conclusion Our study suggests that wider bifurcation angles that have long been deemed causal factors for IA formation or growth may be secondary to IA formation at pathologic bifurcation sites. This finding has implications for our understanding of IA formation pathophysiology.

What Sub-Saharan African Nations Can Teach the U.S. About Black Maternal Health
While poor maternal outcomes among Black women in the U.S. is not new, improving it is imperative. U.S. policymakers can look to sub-Saharan Africa for guidance on reversing this trend. Credit: Ernest Ankomah/IPSBy Ifeanyi NsoforABUJA, Jun 2 2023 (IPS) New research shows that Black mothers in the United States disproportionately live in counties with higher maternal vulnerability and face greater risk of preterm death for the fetus, greater risk of low birth weight for a baby, and a higher number of maternal deaths. While poor maternal outcomes among Black women in the U.S. is not new, improving it is imperative. U.S. poli...

O-042 Complications of DAPT cessation at 3 months versus 6 months after flow diversion of unruptured intracranial aneurysms
ConclusionsOnly 0.6% (n=1) of patients exhibited complications after 3 month follow-up. We conclude that DAPT duration of 3 months after endoluminal flow diversion of unruptured cerebral aneurysms of the anterior circulation is not associated with increased rates of hemorrhagic or thromboembolic complications compared to a traditional 6-month regimen.Disclosures S. De-escalation from ticagrelor to clopidogrel in patients with acute myocardial infarction: the TALOS-AMI HBR substudy
CONCLUSIONS: In stabilised acute myocardial infarction patients, unguided de-escalation from ticagrelor to clopidogrel was associated with a lower rate of net adverse clinical outcomes irrespective of HBR status. The effect of de-escalation of P2Y12 inhibition on reducing haemorrhagic events was greater in patients with HBR.PMID:37724337 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00427
