Impact of left ventricular hypertrophy on clinical outcomes in patients with dialysis: a single-center study in Japan
ConclusionJapanese patients with LVH undergoing dialysis had a worse prognosis than those without LVH in terms of the composite clinical endpoint.

Impact of glomerular filtration rate estimation on cardiovascular events in elderly patients undergoing coronary angiography
Conclusions Kidney function, as manifested by eGFR, has a graded inverse association with the burden of cardiovascular comorbidities and long-term adverse events in elderly patients undergoing coronary angiography.

Long ‐term outcomes of patients undergoing mechanical versus bioprosthetic aortic root replacement
ConclusionsThese findings suggest that mechanical valves for ARRs may confer a survival benefit over bioprosthetic valves. Surgeon bias was likely to account for this survival advantage.

Determining  optimal donor heart ischemic times in adult cardiac transplantation
ConclusionsThe donor heart IT threshold for survival determined from unbiased statistical modeling occurs at 3  h. With longer preservation times, transplantation with O donor hearts was associated with worse survival.

Antiplatelet Therapy in End-stage Renal Disease Patients on Maintenance Dialysis: a State-of-the-art Review
AbstractPatients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on maintenance dialysis have an increased risk of ischaemic events, such as recurrent myocardial infarction (MI) and stroke. Potent antiplatelet therapy may help mitigate this risk. Nonetheless, ERSD patients are also at increased risk of bleeding due to their complex vascular milieu, which limits the routine use of potent P2Y12 inhibitors. Moreover, these patients are often underrepresented or excluded from major clinical trials leaving a significant gap in existing knowledge. Understanding the mechanisms of this paradox may serve as a benchmark for the development of E...

Acute kidney injury and risk of cardiovascular outcomes: A nationwide cohort study
CONCLUSION: Non-selected patients aged 50 years or above with AKI during admission had significantly higher one-year risk of cardiovascular event or death, especially, but not only due to heart failure, independent of age and eGFR.PMID:36210122 | DOI:10.1016/j.nefroe.2022.06.003
