Outcome prediction prior to thrombectomy of the posterior circulation with machine learning
CONCLUSION: Short-term favorable and poor outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke of the posterior circulation can be predicted prior to thrombectomy with moderate sensitivity and high specificity with machine learning models.PMID:37038341 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231168164

The Impact of Longitudinal Data-Completeness of Electronic Health Record Data on the Prediction Performance of Clinical Risk Scores
Clin Pharmacol Ther. 2023 Apr 7. doi: 10.1002/cpt.2901. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe impact of electronic health record (EHR) discontinuity, i.e., receiving care outside of a given EHR system, on EHR-based risk prediction is unknown. We aimed to assess the impact of EHR-continuity on performance of clinical risk scores. The study cohort consisted of patients aged ≥65 years with ≥1 EHR encounter in the two networks in Massachusetts (MA, 2007/1/1-2017/12/31, internal training and validation dataset), and one network in North Carolina (NC, 2007/1/1-2016/12/31, external validation dataset) that were linked with Medica...

A 3-day 'stroke camp' addressed chronic disease self-management elements and perceived stress of survivors of stroke and their caregivers reduced: Survey results from the 14 US camps
CONCLUSIONS: Stroke camp is a novel model that addresses CDSMP domains, which may reduce stress in PWS and CG. Larger, controlled studies are warranted.PMID:37004716 | DOI:10.1080/10749357.2023.2196468

A Nomogram Model for Predicting Prognosis in Spontaneous Intracerebral Hemorrhage Patients
CONCLUSIONS: ICH score, GCS score, irregular shape, uneven density, IVH relation, surgery are easily available indicators to assist neurologists in formulating the most appropriate therapy for every intracranial hemorrhage patient. Further large prospective clinical trials are needed to obtain more integrated and reliable conclusions.PMID:36992585 | DOI:10.31083/j.jin2202042
