The Effect of Metformin on Vitamin B12 Deficiency and Stroke
CONCLUSIONS: T2DM is a significant risk factor to the development of ischemic stroke. We found an association between metformin use and vitamin B12 deficiency and an association between vitamin B12 deficiency and stroke risk in patients with T2DM. Diabetic patients who are taking metformin should monitor their vitamin B12 level.PMID:36841981

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 1482: Particulate Air Pollution Exposure and Stroke among Adults in Israel
In conclusion, short-term PM2.5 exposure is associated with a higher risk for ischemic stroke and possibly TIA, even when PM2.5 concentrations do not exceed the Israeli air quality guideline threshold. Vulnerability to the air pollution effects differed by age, sex, ethnicity, and comorbidities.

Validation of a cloud-based tele-stroke system reliability in determining national institutes of health stroke scale scores for acute ischemic stroke screening in the emergency department
ConclusionRemote stroke assessment based on the NIHSS, using videos segments collected by a dedicated platform, installed on a standard smartphone, is a reliable measurement as compared with the bedside evaluation.

P78 How far is too far in stroke thrombectomy? From XL to XS vessel occlusions with radially adjustable stent-retrievers - Tigertriever XL and Tigertriever 13
ConclusionMechanical thrombectomy for both primary or secondary DMVO seems feasible and as safe as for LVO. Our initial experience using the Tigertriever13 is of special interest as it shows we can potentially significantly expand AIS population that can benefit from mechanical thrombectomy treatment.ReferencesGuenego A, Mine B, Bonnet T, et al. P79 Multicenter assessment of the Tigertriever 13 for thrombectomy in primary medium vessels occlusions
ConclusionMechanical thrombectomy using the Tigertriever 13 appears to be safe and effective for MeVO among different centers and physicians, as a first-line device or as a recue-therapy after an other approach failure.ReferencesGuenego A, Mine B, Bonnet T, et al. O-007 First US multicenter experience using the pipeline flex embolization device with shield technology for treatment of intracranial aneurysms - periprocedural outcomes and early safety profile
ConclusionOur study is the first to report the early experience with the newly FDA-approved PED Flex with Shield technology amongst US centers. Our results are comparable with non-US, international studies showing a high technical success rate and safe peri-procedural angiographic and patient outcome. Long-term follow-up will be needed to provide more robust data on angiographic and patient outcomes.Disclosures A. Kuhn: None. J. Singh: None. A. Abdelsalam: None. V. Saini: None. J. Burks: None. G. O-067 Super large-bore ingestion of clot (SLIC) leads to high first-pass effect in thrombectomy for large vessel occlusion
ConclusionOur initial experience with the SLIC technique resulted in achieving first-pass effect (mTICI≥2C) in 70.5%. Navigation of the SLBA catheter extender over the Tenzing insert was successful and safe in this early experience.Disclosures F. Massari: None. G.
