Intracerebral Hemorrhage Among Blood Donors and Their Transfusion Recipients
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: In an exploratory analysis of patients who received red blood cell transfusions, patients who underwent transfusion with red blood cells from donors who later developed multiple spontaneous ICHs were at significantly increased risk of spontaneous ICH themselves. This may suggest a transfusion-transmissible agent associated with some types of spontaneous ICH, although the findings may be susceptible to selection bias and residual confounding, and further research is needed to investigate if transfusion transmission of cerebral amyloid angiopathy might explain this association.PMID:37698562 | DOI:1...

Mortality and Morbidity Effects of Long-Term Exposure to Low-Level PM < sub > 2.5 < /sub > , BC, NO < sub > 2 < /sub > , and O < sub > 3 < /sub > : An Analysis of European Cohorts in the ELAPSE Project
CONCLUSIONS: Long-term exposure to PM2.5, NO2, and BC was positively associated with natural-cause and cause-specific mortality in the pooled cohort and the administrative cohorts. Associations were found well below current limit values and guidelines for PM2.5 and NO2. Associations tended to be supralinear, with steeper slopes at low exposures with no indication of a threshold. Cardiovascular events in cancer patients with bone metastases —A Danish population‐based cohort study of 23,113 patients
ConclusionCancer patients with bone metastases had a substantial risk of developing cardiovascular events, and these events were associated with a subsequent increased mortality. Our findings underscore the importance of continuous optimized prevention of and care for cardiovascular disease among cancer patients with bone metastases.

The association between education and risk of major cardiovascular events among prostate cancer patients: a study from the Diet, Cancer and Health study.
CONCLUSIONS: The risk of acute myocardial infarction was increased in prostate cancer patients with short or medium education compared with long education. Although the educational inequality did not seem to be explained by differences in treatment, lifestyle or cardiovascular risk factors, monitoring of cardiovascular health and health promotion should involve all prostate cancer patients regardless of social position to ensure best prognosis for all.
