Lipid profiles and their relation to glycemic control in Saudi Arabia: The role of altitudes and environmental factor
CONCLUSION: Our results demonstrated a significant positive correlation between lipid profile and glycemic control with high prevalence at sea level.PMID:37649774 | PMC:PMC10465043 | DOI:10.4103/jfmpc.jfmpc_104_23

Estimate a patient's 10 years cardiovascular risk using the Arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease tool in a cross-sectional study in Al-Harja, Asser, Saudi Arabia, 2021
CONCLUSION: An alarmingly high prevalence of high-risk ASCVD scores was seen among male participants, with 54 (22.78%) in the high-risk category, while 19 female participants (9.36%) were in the same category. Therefore, we can conclude that male participants are two times as likely to have a high ASCVD risk than female participants.PMID:37636182 | PMC:PMC10451604 | DOI:10.4103/jfmpc.jfmpc_2183_22

Association of serum leptin and resistin levels among obese Saudi patients with acute myocardial infarction in Asir region
Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand). 2023 Jun 30;69(6):1-7. doi: 10.14715/cmb/2023.69.6.1.ABSTRACTIn the current scenario, the importance of cardiac biomarkers in diagnosing, assessing, and managing people with cardiovascular discomfort is required. This cross-sectional study examined the relationship between serum leptin and resistin levels among obese people with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) with varying body mass index (BMI). The cardio and diabetic biomarkers among the 77 Saudi patients with hypoxia who lived in the Asir region were analyzed in the study. The patients were categorized into three groups, namely, group 1...

Metabolite profiling, hypolipidemic, and anti-atherosclerosis activity of mixed vegetable fermentation extract
This study designed to investigate the secondary metabolites, hypolipidemic, and anti-atherogenic effect of mixed vegetable fermentation extract (MVFE). The metabolite screening of the MVFE was assessed using the Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrophotometer (LC-MS/MS) method. The result of LC-MS/MS was used as ligands to inhibit the binding of oxidized LDL (oxLDL) and Cluster Differentiation 36 (CD36), Scavenger Receptor A1 (SRA1), Lectin-type oxidized LDL receptor 1 (LOX1). This work was performed with molecular docking using Discovery Studio 2021, PyRx 0.9, and Autodock Vina 4.2 followed by analyzing Network Pharm...

Effects of Age, Metabolic and Socioeconomic Factors on Cardiovascular Risk among Saudi Women: A Subgroup Analysis from the Heart Health Promotion Study
Conclusions: In Saudi women, CVR increases with the increase of age. The influence of pregnancy and menopause is apparent in the prevalence of increased risks for cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.PMID:36984624 | PMC:PMC10051484 | DOI:10.3390/medicina59030623
