Report on Cardiovascular Health and Diseases in China 2021: An Updated Summary
Biomed Environ Sci. 2022 Jul 20;35(7):573-603. doi: 10.3967/bes2022.079.ABSTRACTIn 2019, cardiovascular disease (CVD) accounted for 46.74% and 44.26% of all deaths in rural and urban areas, respectively. Two out of every five deaths were due to CVD. It is estimated that about 330 million patients suffer from CVD in China. The number of patients suffering from stroke, coronary heart disease, heart failure, pulmonary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, lower extremity artery disease and hypertension are 13.00 million, 11.39 million, 8.90 million, 5.00 million, 4.87 million, ...

Healthy lifestyle and life expectancy at age 30 years in the Chinese population: an observational study
Lancet Public Health. 2022 Aug 1:S2468-2667(22)00110-4. doi: 10.1016/S2468-2667(22)00110-4. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTBACKGROUND: The improvement of life expectancy is one of the aims of the Healthy China 2030 blueprint. We aimed to investigate the extent to which healthy lifestyles are associated with life expectancy in Chinese adults.METHODS: We used the prospective China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) study to examine the relative risk of mortality associated with individual and combined lifestyle factors (never smoking or quitting not for illness, no excessive alcohol use, being physically active, healthy eating habits, an...

Association of immunoglobulin G N-glycosylation with carotid atherosclerotic plaque phenotypes and actual clinical cardiovascular events: a study protocol for a longitudinal prospective cohort study
BMJ Open. 2022 Jul 22;12(7):e058922. doi: 10.1136/bmjopen-2021-058922.ABSTRACTINTRODUCTION: Immune-inflammatory response plays a key role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. IgG N-glycosylation is reported to be associated with the 10-year atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk score and subclinical atherosclerosis. However, the relationship of IgG glycosylation with actual clinical cardiovascular disease (CVD) events and plaque phenotypes has rarely been investigated. Therefore, this study aims to understand whether IgG glycosylation traits are correlated with actual clinical CVD events and plaque phenotypes.METH...

Clinical Features of Acute Coronary Syndrome in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease and Its Correlation with Tumour Necrosis Factor in Cardiology
Comput Math Methods Med. 2022 Jun 30;2022:3439768. doi: 10.1155/2022/3439768. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTTumour necrosis factor (TNF) levels are higher in patients who have experienced an acute ischemic stroke. Greater levels of TNF may not be linked to an increased risk of recurrent coronary events in the stable phase after myocardial ischemia (MI). Coronary atheroma is connected to endothelial and smooth muscle cells, as well as macrophages that emit the multifunctional cytokine tumour necrosis factor (TNF). Transplanted tumours become more vulnerable when TNF-α was first recognized to have a function in hemorrhagic necro...

Causal associations of alcohol consumption with cardiovascular diseases and all-cause mortality among Chinese
CONCLUSIONS: Our analyses extend the evidence of the harmful effect of alcohol consumption to total CVD (including CHD) and all-cause mortality, highlighting the potential health benefits of lowering alcohol consumption, even among light-to-moderate male drinkers.PMID:35687413 | DOI:10.1093/ajcn/nqac159

Clinical Characteristics of Patients with Arrhythmias of the Idiopathic Outflow Tract Ventricular: Age, Gender, Comorbidities, Laboratory Test Results, and Echocardiographic Parameters
CONCLUSIONS: The outflow tract served as the major original site of IVAs, and significant differences existed between participants in the LVOT and RVOT groups in age; gender; comorbidities; results of laboratory examinations, including red-blood-cell counts, hemoglobin, creatinine, and GGT; and echocardiographic parameters, including LVEF%, LAD, LVEDD, IVS, and LVPWT.PMID:35687704
