Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Physician Modified Endografts for Treatment of Thoraco-Abdominal and Complex Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms
CONCLUSION: Physician modified fenestrated or branched grafts for endovascular aortic repair seems feasible and safe in the short-term follow-up. However, the quality of the available data is low which highlights the need for better and more accurate data regarding this technique.PMID:35483575 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2022.04.015

Extent of mural thrombus is not associated with increased 5-year mortality following elective AAA repair
CONCLUSIONS: In our experience, the extent of mural thrombus in AAA does not influence long-term survival after elective repair. AAA repair may provide protection against circulating components of mural thrombus which have the potential to promote atherosclerotic-related adverse events. Patients with renal insufficiency and larger AAA have increased risk of mortality 5 years after elective repair.PMID:35331063 | DOI:10.1177/17085381211063282

Protocol for GUos renovisceral Artery reconstruction-1: a prospective, multicentre, single-arm clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a multibRANched sTEnt graft systEm for thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (GUARANTEE study)
Introduction The multibranched off-the-shelf stent graft is a promising treatment option for thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA). A commercially available, multibranched, off-the-shelf endograft called the t-Branch stent graft has demonstrated favourable midterm outcomes. Another two investigational off-the-shelf endografts, the GORE EXCLUDER Thoracoabdominal Branch Endoprosthesis and E-nside multibranch stent graft system, are still being developed. However, these three endografts have an unsatisfactory anatomic feasibility rate in patients with TAAA. Based on the concept of Guo’s renovisceral artery reconstruct...

A systematic review and meta-analysis of stroke rates in patients undergoing Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair for descending thoracic aortic aneurysm and type B dissection.
We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis aiming to assess the stroke rates following thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) for descending thoracic aortic aneurysms and/or dissections.

Chimney endovascular aneurysm repair (ChEVAR) for hostile neck complex aneurysm
CONCLUSION: Reintervention to multiple chimney grafts and for persistent gutter-flow is higher compared to single chimneys and demands close surveillance. However, based upon this combined transantlantic experience, we believe multiple ChEVAR provides a reasonable and safe option for complex aortic aneurysm repair when open or custom endografts are not available or indicated based on their Instructions For use, even when triple chimney grafts are required. The optimal configuration for multiple ChEVAR still warrants further study, although theoretical preliminary advantages may exist for a combination of antegrade and retr...

Fenestrated and branched endovascular repair for juxtarenal and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms: analysis of the first 100 cases
CONCLUSIONS: This study confirms that fenestrated and branched endovascular repair is a safe and feasible treatment for juxtarenal and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms with acceptable complication rates. The perioperative cardiac mortality highlights the importance of pre-operative risk assessment and patient selection.PMID:35142459 | DOI:10.23736/S0021-9509.22.11964-6
