Probable REM sleep behavior disorder and risk of stroke: A prospective study
Conclusions: Presence of pRBD was associated with a higher risk of developing stroke, including both ischemic and hemorrhagic types. Future studies with clinically confirmed RBD and a longer follow-up would be appropriate to further investigate this association.

Cognitive performance after stroke – The Framingham Heart Study
ConclusionsClinical stroke is associated with subsequent poorer performance in multiple cognitive domains. This association cannot be entirely explained by the individual's cognitive function prior to stroke or by concomitant vascular risk factor levels.

Progression of cognitive impairment in stroke/TIA patients over 3 years
Conclusions In poststroke patients, cognitive decline was not greater than in comparison subjects, except for verbal memory, unless they had another stroke/TIA. However, dementia incidence was higher in patients, as might be expected from their poorer baseline cognitive functioning. Smaller hippocampi were associated with an increased risk of decline in memory, and APOE 4 was a risk factor in those without a subsequent stroke/TIA.

Subclinical cardiac dysfunction increases the risk of stroke and dementia: The Rotterdam Study
Conclusions: In elderly free of clinical cardiac disease, worse diastolic function is associated with clinical stroke, dementia, and silent infarcts on MRI, whereas worse systolic function is related only to clinical stroke. These findings can form the basis for future research on the utility of cardiac function as potential intervention target for prevention of neurologic diseases.

Failing a Dysphagia Screening Test after Acute Ischemic Stroke: Baseline Patient Factors and Outcomes (P6.037)
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with ischemic stroke who failed a dysphagia screening test had worse pre-admission function and more severe strokes, and developed much higher rates of complications and death than those who passed.
