IL-25 Impact on Malignant B Cells Survival and T Cells Activation in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
Iran J Allergy Asthma Immunol. 2023 Jun 16;22(3):299-311. doi: 10.18502/ijaai.v22i3.13058.ABSTRACTT cell dysregulation and shift to T helper 2 responses, boosting tumor microenvironment support, contributes to the survival of leukemic B cells in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Interleukin (IL)-25 is involved in the initiation of T helper 2 cell responses. Signal transduction of IL-25 begins with the heterodimer receptor (IL-17RA/IL-17RB). The presence of IL-25 in the tumor microenvironment may affect the supportive effects of T cells in the surrounding tumor cell environment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the rol...

Alterations of Epidermal Lipid Profiles and Skin Microbiome in Children With Atopic Dermatitis
CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that pediatric AD skin shows aberrant lipid profiles, and these alterations are associated with skin microbial dysbiosis and cutaneous barrier dysfunction.PMID:37021505 | DOI:10.4168/aair.2023.15.2.186

Investigating the Safety and Efficacy of the Synthetic Drug Herbix on Immune Responses Involved in the Treatment of a Mouse Model of Herpes Simplex Virus
In this study, 25 male BALB/c mice were used to conduct a mouse model of herpes by subcutaneously injecting an HSV-1 suspension (100 µL of 1× PFU/mL). The mice were divided into 5 groups with groups 1 to 3 designated as intervention groups, and groups 4 and 5 serving as positive and negative control groups, respectively. After 2 days of virus inoculation, the mice were treated with different concentrations of Herbix (100, 200, and 300 mg/mL) via subcutaneous injection. Mice Blood samples (0.5 to 1 mL) were taken from the mice before and after the experiments, and after three-week follow-up period, the mice were sacrifice...

MicroRNA-122 Is More Effective than Rapamycin in Inhibition of Epithelial-mesenchymal Transition and mTOR Signaling Pathway in Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Iran J Allergy Asthma Immunol. 2023 Feb 20;22(1):46-61. doi: 10.18502/ijaai.v22i1.12006.ABSTRACTThe fundamental mechanism responsible for the aggressiveness of metastatic cancers such as triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). In cancer microenvironments, the Phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3K)-Akt- mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway plays a critical role in regulating the EMT mechanism. The current study focuses on the impacts of rapamycin, a newly retargeted chemotherapeutic agent against mTOR, and MicroRNA (miR)-122 on the aggressive behavior of TNBC. The ha...

Pathogenesis of allergic diseases and implications for therapeutic interventions
Signal Transduct Target Ther. 2023 Mar 24;8(1):138. doi: 10.1038/s41392-023-01344-4.ABSTRACTAllergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis (AR), allergic asthma (AAS), atopic dermatitis (AD), food allergy (FA), and eczema are systemic diseases caused by an impaired immune system. Accompanied by high recurrence rates, the steadily rising incidence rates of these diseases are attracting increasing attention. The pathogenesis of allergic diseases is complex and involves many factors, including maternal-fetal environment, living environment, genetics, epigenetics, and the body's immune status. The pathogenesis of allergic disease...

Is your kid actin out? A series of six patients with inherited ARPC1B deficiency and review of the literature
CONCLUSION: ARPC1B deficiency has a variable and heterogeneous clinical spectrum, expanded by these cases to include keloid scars and Epstein-Barr virus chronic hepatitis. A novel deletion in exon 8 is shared by three unrelated families and might be the result of a founder effect.PMID:36708766 | DOI:10.1016/j.jaip.2022.12.045
