Recurrent Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis After Kidney Transplantation: Risk Factors and Impact on Graft Survival
CONCLUSIONS The MPGN recurrence rate was 25%, most of them recipients of kidneys from living donors. Nephrotic syndrome and C3 consumption were frequent at recurrence. The graft function was similar between the groups, and the 5-year graft survival rate in the recurrence group was higher than in other studies.PMID:37461201 | PMC:PMC10362803 | DOI:10.12659/AOT.940502

Role of cyclosporin A in the treatment of kidney disease and nephrotoxicity
Toxicology. 2023 May 8:153544. doi: 10.1016/j.tox.2023.153544. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe clinical use of cyclosporin A (CsA) has led to significant advances and achievements in the field of transplantation and immune diseases. However, the nephrotoxicity of CsA is a major concern in current immunosuppression regimens. CsA causes abnormal kidney function while treating kidney disease, causing problems for clinicians and patients. Evidence of CsA nephrotoxicity is almost always present in transplant recipients after long-term CsA administration (up to 10 years), and similar phenomena occur with other calcineurin inhi...

Interventions for preventing and treating kidney disease in IgA vasculitis
CONCLUSIONS: There are no substantial changes in conclusions from this update compared with the initial review or the previous update despite the addition of five studies. From generally low to moderate certainty evidence, we found that there may be little or no benefit in the use of corticosteroids or antiplatelet agents to prevent persistent kidney disease in children with IgAV in participants with no or minimal kidney involvement at presentation. We did not find any studies which evaluated corticosteroids in children presenting with IgAV and nephritic and/or nephrotic syndrome, although corticosteroids are recommended i...
