Carotid Artery Stenosis after Radiation Therapy in a Patient with Lung Cancer: A Case Report and Literature Review.
We reported a case of carotid artery stenosis with stroke symptoms detected in a patient with lung cancer after radiotherapy. The patient was a 58-year-old male with a complaint of \"a single episode of temporary amaurosis in the right eye for 10 minutes". The clinical diagnosis at admission, after consideration of the patient's age, medical history, and auxiliary examination results, was as follows: lung cancer; right common carotid artery stenosis; left common carotid artery stenosis; left vertebral artery stenosis; and right subclavian artery occlusion with right subclavian steal syndrome (Grade 3). Carotid angioplasty...

Clinical Reasoning: A 68-year-old man with a history of lung cancer presenting with right-sided weakness and aphasia
A 68-year-old man with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation on warfarin, left subclavian thrombosis treated with carotid-subclavian bypass, and lung adenocarcinoma treated with pneumonectomy, chemotherapy, and prophylactic cranial irradiation and in remission since 1987 was admitted to our neurocritical care unit with acute onset of right-sided weakness, expressive aphasia, and lethargy. On admission his temperature was 101.7°F, and initial blood pressure was 140/60 mm Hg. There was no nuchal rigidity. He was alert and mute with impaired comprehension. He had left gaze preference. Development of a dynamic motion platform with two independent drive systems for radiotherapy
CONCLUSIONS: A new dynamic platform for radiation therapy with two drive systems capable of three-axis motion was developed, and the positional accuracy of the drive axes was confirmed to be less than 0.2 mm.PMID:36951306 | DOI:10.1002/acm2.13971
