Abstract 5343: Continuing expression of SHP2E76K is required to maintain lung tumors induced by the active SHP2E76K mutant in transgenic mice
The SHP2 protein tyrosine phosphatase is activated by growth factor receptor oncogenes or by gain-of-function (GOF) missense mutations such as SHP2E76K in human cancer. To study the oncogenic function of GOF SHP2 mutants and the dependency of SHP2 mutant-induced tumors, we established transgenic mice containing the tetO-SHP2E76K transgene. tetO-SHP2E76K mice were bred to CCSP-rtTA mice to direct expression of the transgene in type II pneumocytes to assess the role of the SHP2 mutant in lung adenocarcinoma. When the CCSP-rtTA/tetO-SHP2E76K bitransgenic mice were induced with doxycycline (dox), they developed papillary adeno...

Socioeconomic status and cecal adenocarcinoma mortality risk: an American population-based analysis
CONCLUSION: Low socioeconomic status is associated with an increased risk of death in patients with cecal adenocarcinoma in the United States and show different distribution patterns based on population. Improving health insurance policies and strengthening psychotherapy can provide guidance for improving prognosis f cecal adenocarcinoma patients.PMID:37712280 | PMC:PMC10505572 | DOI:10.12122/j.issn.1673-4254.2023.08.20

Improving the accuracy and consistency of clinical target volume delineation for rectal cancer by an education program
CONCLUSION: Wide variations in CTV delineation for rectal cancer are present among radiation oncologists in mainland China. A well-structured education program could improve delineation accuracy and reduce IOVs.PMID:35646284 | PMC:PMC9124985 | DOI:10.4251/wjgo.v14.i5.1027

The potential of gut microbiome as a non-invasive predictive biomarker for early detection of pancreatic cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: To conclude, the field regarding the link between gut microbiome as a non-invasive biomarkers and early detection of pancreatic cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma exists, however, it is not well-investigated. Additionally, many of the studies were conducted with small sample sizes, whereas biomarkers are ethnicity-dependent and should be validated in wide range of populations. Nevertheless, these aspects are promising and open up new diagnostic options.PMID:34919227 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202112_27421
