The Application of 18F-FES PET in Clinical Cancer Care: A Systematic Review
CONCLUSIONS: [18F]fluoroestradiol PET is not only a convenient and accurate diagnostic imaging tool for detecting ER-expressing lesions in patients with breast and ovarian cancer but also among patients with uterine cancer. [18F]fluoroestradiol PET is a noninvasive predictive and monitoring tool for treatment response and prognosis.PMID:37482660 | DOI:10.1097/RLU.0000000000004760

Epirubicin toxicity in rat's ovary and uterus: A protective role of 3-Indolepropionic acid supplementation
Chem Biol Interact. 2023 Feb 21:110414. doi: 10.1016/j.cbi.2023.110414. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe "anthracycline, Epirubicin (EPI)," in managing breast cancer, is highly cytotoxic. Tryptophan-derived 3-indolepropionic acid (3-IPA) decreases oxidative damage, and its prospect of alleviating EPI-induced cytotoxicity was examined in rats' hypothalamus-ovary-uterus axis. Female rats: Control, EPI (2.5 mg/kg), 3-IPA alone (40 mg/kg), EPI+3-IPA (2.5 mg/kg + 20 mg/kg), EPI + 3-IPA2 (2.5 mg/kg + 40 mg/kg) were treated for 28 days. Subsequently, reproductive hormones, oxidative and inflammatory stress biomarkers, and tissue...

Protective effect of eicosapentaenoic acid against estradiol valerate-induced endometrial hyperplasia via modulation of NF- κB/HIF-1α/VEGF signaling pathway in rats
CONCLUSIONS: EPA in the used doses provided biochemical and histopathological improvement in EV-induced EH via modulation of NF-κB/HIF-1α/VEGF signaling pathway.PMID:36774993 | DOI:10.1016/j.cbi.2023.110399

Ormeloxifene, a selective estrogen receptor modulator, protects against pulmonary hypertension
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that ormeloxifene promoted pulmonary 17β-estradiol synthesis, alleviated inflammation, improved the NOX4/HO1/Nrf/PPARγ/PGC-1α axis, and attenuated pulmonary hypertension. It is evidently safe at tested concentrations and may be effectively repurposed for pulmonary hypertension treatment.PMID:36731722 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejphar.2023.175558

Ameliorating Effect of the Edible Mushroom Hericium erinaceus on Depressive-Like Behavior in Ovariectomized Rats
Biol Pharm Bull. 2022;45(10):1438-1443. doi: 10.1248/bpb.b22-00151.ABSTRACTEstrogen deficiency during menopause causes a variety of neurological symptoms, including depression. The edible Lion's Mane mushroom, Hericium erinaceus (Bull.: Fr.) Pers. (HE), is a medicinal mushroom that has the potential for a neuroprotective effect and ameliorating neurological diseases, such as depression, anxiety, and neurodegenerative diseases. HE contains phytoestrogens, including daidzein and genistein. However, the ameliorating effect of HE on menopausal symptoms is not well understood. Here we investigated the impact of methanol extract...
