Suppression of hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal function by linzagolix in benign prostatic hyperplasia and polycystic ovary syndrome animal models
Clin Exp Pharmacol Physiol. 2023 Aug 25. doi: 10.1111/1440-1681.13817. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis is an important regulatory mechanism involved primarily in the development and regulation of the reproductive systems. The suppression of the HPG axis by gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogues is expected to be effective for the treatment of sex hormone-dependent diseases, such as endometriosis, uterine fibroid, prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Despite the established involvement of GnRH signalling in these disord...

PCOS during the menopausal transition and after menopause: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Hum Reprod Update. 2023 Jun 23:dmad015. doi: 10.1093/humupd/dmad015. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTBACKGROUND: Current knowledge about the consequences of PCOS during the late reproductive years and after menopause is limited.OBJECTIVE AND RATIONALE: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of data on the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of women ≥45 years of age-peri- or postmenopausal-with PCOS.SEARCH METHODS: Studies published up to 15 April 2023, identified by Entrez-PubMed, EMBASE, and Scopus online facilities, were considered. We included cross-sectional or pro...

Randomized trial of exercise on cancer-related blood biomarkers and survival in women with ovarian cancer
CONCLUSIONS: Further studies are needed to determine the clinical significance of exercise-induced changes in cancer-related circulating biomarkers in women with ovarian cancer.PMID:37269192 | DOI:10.1002/cam4.6187

Association between IGFBP1 expression and cancer risk: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: In this study, compared with individuals at low IGFBP1 expression adjusted for age, smoking status, alcohol intake and so on, risk of the prostate cancer and CRC were decreased among individuals of high IGFBP1 expression. There needs further study to confirm this issue.PMID:37251476 | PMC:PMC10220379 | DOI:10.1016/j.heliyon.2023.e16470

Regulation of SIRT1 in Ovarian Function: PCOS Treatment
Curr Issues Mol Biol. 2023 Mar 2;45(3):2073-2089. doi: 10.3390/cimb45030133.ABSTRACTThe sirtuin family, a group of NAD+-dependent class 3 histone deacetylases (HDACs), was extensively studied initially as a group of longevity genes that are activated in caloric restriction and act in concert with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotides to extend the lifespan. Subsequent studies have found that sirtuins are involved in various physiological processes, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle progression, and insulin signaling, and they have been extensively studied as cancer genes. In recent years, it has been found t...
