Mechanism of Quercetin as a Multidrug-resistant Reversing Compound in Oxaliplatin-resistant Gastric-cancer Cell Lines
CONCLUSIONS: Qur induced a dramatic reduction in the survival rate of KATOIII/OxR cells and may reverse OxR resistance through a decrease in P-gp expression and activity. These data imply that exposure of KATOIII/OxR cells in the dose-dependent manner to Qur can circumvent MDR by improving the intracellular accumulation of OxR. Qur might provide a new treatment strategy and improve patients' survival after chemotherapy for gastric cancer.PMID:37652429

Estradiol cypionate inhibits proliferation and promotes apoptosis of gastric cancer by regulating AKT ubiquitination
In this study, we have investigated the effect of estradiol cypionate (ECP) on gastric cancer in vitro and vivo. Our data show that ECP inhibited the proliferation, promoted apoptosis, and caused G1/S phase arrest of gastric cancer cells. The mechanism by which ECP promoted apoptosis of gastric cancer cells was related to the downregulation of AKT protein expression caused by the increased ubiquitination modification levels of AKT, which finally inhibited the over-activation of the PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling pathway. In vivo tumorigenesis experiments showed that ECP significantly inhibited the growth of gastric cancer cells, ...

Anti-cancer activity of guggulsterone by modulating apoptotic markers: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Conclusion: This study suggested that Guggulsterone has apoptotic effects against various cancer types. Further investigation of its pharmacological activity and mechanism of action should be conducted. In vivo experiments and clinical trials are required to confirm the anticancer activity.

Co-delivery of Doxorubicin and Paclitaxel via Noisome Nanocarriers Attenuates Cancerous Phenotypes in Gastric Cancer Cells
Eur J Pharm Biopharm. 2023 Apr 25:S0939-6411(23)00102-9. doi: 10.1016/j.ejpb.2023.04.016. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTGastric cancer (GC) is known as a deadly malignancy all over the world, yet none of the current therapeutic regimens have achieved efficacy. this current study has aimed to optimize and reduce treatment doses and overcome multidrug resistance in GC by developing optimum niosomal formulation for the delivery of doxorubicin (DXR), paclitaxel (PTX), and their co-delivery. The particles' size, polydispersity index (PDI), and entrapment efficacy (EE%) were optimized using statistical techniques, i.e., Box-Behn...

Increased Expression of the Pathological O-glycosylated Form of Oncofetal Fibronectin in the Multidrug Resistance Phenotype of Cancer Cells
Matrix Biol. 2023 Mar 5:S0945-053X(23)00026-4. doi: 10.1016/j.matbio.2023.03.002. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTChanges in protein glycosylation are a hallmark of transformed cells and modulate numerous phenomena associated with cancer progression, such as the acquisition of multidrug resistance (MDR) phenotype. Different families of glycosyltransferases and their products have already been described as possible modulators of the MDR phenotype. Among the glycosyltransferases intensively studied in cancer research, UDP-N-acetyl-D-galactosamine:polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase-6 (pp-GalNAc-T6), which is widely e...
