"Nurses do not get paid extra for being pharmacists" - KevinMD
Nurses do not get paid extra for being pharmacists Nurses are nuts for letting these things happen. www.kevinmd.com Can we put KevinMD up there with Dr. Oz now as someone who has no real medical credibility? I realize that the book author wrote this, but since Kevin put it on his site he certainly shares the blame for distributing this drool. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Workplace drama?
there are people at work or at any job that are absolutely crazy. like, they are nuts. if something happens, they will become visceral and insane. they don't know how to or are unable to work with people. it's like ego wars, always wanting to "one up" or be "on top" in a situation. it's really weird, and cringe worthy. granted, i sometimes fall victim to this, but i realize that it's very bad when it happens and should be avoided. but when you have two people engaging in an ego-ic war, and... How to go to a non-accredited school without getting screwed
Hello. I'm in the LA area and am going to apply to LPC/MFT programs next year. As you know, LA traffic is nuts, so ideally I'd like to go somewhere within a 75 min drive. However, my options are limited to just 2-3 programs, if I go the accredited route. I'd like to consider some non-accredited programs at legit schools (e.g. UCLA, CSU-LA, etc - no non-accredited programs at West Podunk Online of LA County; but I also don't want to get screwed and not be able to take the licensing exam... Two Chief Complaints that drive me nuts.
Title says it all. #1.) "My widget is broken". - This is generally a PEG tube that is broken, or a line that won't flush, or a whatever. In nearly every circumstance, this can either WAIT UNTIL MORNING and/or CAN BE TAKEN CARE OF IN A THOUSAND OTHER SETTINGS THAN THE ER. 3:30 AM PEG tube dysfunction?! Put the patient back to bed, and then call the facility MD at 7 AM. 10:30 PM catheter that won't drain urine? Flush it, and let the old man sleep. He'll sleep hard overnight. Then, sort... Currently in CRNA school & considering backtracking to make the switch to medical school. Am I crazy?
Brief history: I was a horribly average high school student due to being home-schooled for most of my life and truly not understanding how public education worked when I entered high school (plus not having my priorities straight). My poor academic performance drove me nuts, so I viewed undergrad as a chance to prove to myself what I could accomplish. I graduated with a BSN, a 4.0 cGPA, and I was very involved in extracurriculars in my university. After graduation, I worked for 2... Over-Involved Parents?
Hi, I'm applying to med school this year, and I wanted to ask you guys a question. Do you let your parents get involved in your application process? I don't mean just reading and critiquing your personal statement, but spending so much time reading articles on SDN, reading every word in your work/activities section, and just researching far more than you because they have more time to use? I have a part time job, and am busy with other activities, but my dad (unemployed) drives me nuts... Over-Involved Parents? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Heartworm testing
Hello guys, I work as a vet assistant and I’m a little confused about the protocol to heartworm testing. I don’t work until Saturday and it’s driving me nuts haha. 1. A dog can be on HW prevention until 7 mos, but once 7 mos, they should be tested for heartworms to be able to continue HW prevention. - My Q: what if they haven’t been regular with the HW prevention? Should you still test? To me, i don’t think it’d matter since either way, it’s been long enough for the heartworms to show up... Heartworm testing (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Am I the only one that is tired of all the Type A Personalities in medicine?
I'm applying to more of a laid-back specialty and so now that I'm done with interviews and doing core rotations again the insane 'Type A' personalities in the rest of the medical world have become even more noticeable. I feel like I'm slowly going nuts being surrounded by these personalities - from attendings, residents to other medical students. Does anyone else feel this way? Please tell me I'm not the only one... (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Anyone else getting butthurt at Physical Therapists saying they are "doctors"
Like not to sound arrogant or anything, but I hear "future doctor" and "med school" when I hear people talking about DPT program or student. I understand the D in DPT stands for doctor but this is driving me nuts lol. Just a little misleading (Source: Student Doctor Network)

LDR, Different Countries??? Am I nuts?
I'm a second year student, and I have a friend at my university who is a fourth year student from Ukraine. In around January one of her friends came to visit the USA for 2 months through some kind of program at her university. From my understanding, it's virtually impossible for a Ukrainian girl to get a tourist visa here... but apparently this was something different, I honestly don't really understand it. Anyways, this girl stayed in the USA with her friend for 2 months. She is studying... LDR, Different Countries??? Am I nuts? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Are pre-meds and/or med students nuts?
Seriously. Do some students make up facts about where they are interviewing and if they have been accepted just to beef themselves up? It just doesn't make any sense to me, especially online when no one really knows who you are anyway. Two people on the pre-allo forum said they got into Tufts and the admissions committee hasn't even met yet, nor will until December. Do some schools admit students before the adcom meets because they are so stellar? A classmate of mine said she had an two... Are pre-meds and/or med students nuts? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Need advice, am I nuts to start vet school?
My apologies to anyone who may find this thread to be too long, but would really appreciate your opinion! I need a reality check in my struggle. My first passion in life has always been dancing/singing and I am talented in mimicking/impersonating animals/people. Where I grew up dancing/singing was not considered valuable by the culture and was banned by the government. When I moved to the US I pursued it as a semi-professional activity but now that my body is older (I'm 38), and because of... Need advice, am I nuts to start vet school? The Most Efficient Remedy for Very Low GPAs (
Hi everyone, I am another non-trad here and over the years have been getting a lot of good information from SDN. In a way, I know in general what it takes to get into med school. The last couple of years I have been out of the loop and wanted to get a sense from the collective knowledge about low GPA options these days. I spent over four years racking up units at a local community college; got out with a GPA of 2.6 and BCPM 2.3 about 6 years ago, 170 semester units under my belt (that’s 250 quarter units). I lost all sense of focus and direction after a family matter and had several Fs, Ds, Ws. So I got a job and wor...
