Big Pharma, Harvard, and the Recent Mumps Outbreak
Conclusion The mumps outbreak at Harvard medical school among vaccinated students is not shocking news. Informed readers know that vaccines do not provide safe, effective, lasting immunity against diseases. Merck’s own employees have accused their colleagues of falsifying data to promote their vaccine as a highly effective method of preventing the spread of mumps, a claim that is untrue. Meanwhile, Harvard and other institutions who receive funding from vaccine makers claim a disease is highly contagious, rather than blaming a vaccine that doesn’t work. Why the Documentary Vaxxed is so Controversial and Important to Support
Recently Dr. Andrew Wakefield directed the documentary Vaxxed to educate the public about autism in general, and more specifically to address the coverup of the 2004 research connecting the MMR vaccine to autism. Gastroenterologist Wakefield has become a champion for the autism community, which stands behind Wakefield’s dedication and work to help the growing numbers of children suffering from autism. Dr. Wakefield’s work has focused on alleviating the gastrointestinal distress often accompanying patients of autism. [1] The movie Vaxxed is controversial because the coverup of the MMR vaccine connection to autism has fa...

Comments about Comments about “Vaxxed”
Dr. Ian Lipkin, an epidemiologist at Columbia University, writes in the Wall Street Journal this week that “Anti-Vaccination Lunacy Won’t Stop” (article freely available at the link). He is upset about the movie “Vaxxed,” which presses the claim that autism is caused by the vaccine against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR).  He is pleased that Robert De Niro dropped the film from the Tribeca Film... // Read More » (Source: blog.bioethics.net)

The Gardasil Vaccine Disaster and Why You Must Investigate This Vaccine Yourself
The HPV vaccine has proven to be a disaster. This vaccine, developed to protect young women from cervical cancer, has failed to provide protection. In fact, it has succeeded in doing the opposite by increasing cervical cancer rates in those vaccinated. Reports of health damage caused by this vaccine are immense. The HPV vaccination has been linked with life-threatening autoimmune disorders, cancer, paralysis, infertility and death. In fact, several countries have opposed the vaccine, as evidenced through public warning or lawsuits. A lead researcher of the vaccine has advised parents not to use it. One independent group of...

You Decide: The Risks and Benefits of the MMR Vaccination
Most of us weigh the risks and benefits of medical procedures prior to obtaining them. We sign an informed consent form with an understanding of the potential harm versus the perceived benefits. In the case of vaccinations, the great majority of parents obtain vaccinations for their children, influenced by the “sales pitch” and “scare tactics” used by physicians. We are assured that the vaccination is safe and will protect us and our children from the various targeted deadly diseases. If we blindly trust our doctors, as I once had, we readily agree. It is important that we think critically before agreeing to any va...

Rubella virus and birth defects
Amidst the fear surrounding Zika virus, remember that there are over 100,000 children born each year with birth defects caused by infection with rubella virus. The virus Rubella virus is a member of the Togaviridae family, which also includes chikungunya virus. The genome is a 9.7 kilobase, positive strand RNA enclosed in a capsid and surrounded by a membrane (illustrated; image from ViralZone). Transmission Humans are the only natural host and reservoir of rubella virus. The virus is transmitted from human to human by respiratory aerosols.  Upon entry into the upper respiratory tract, the virus replicates in the ...

Why Your Culture Does Not Matter To Me
BY UNDISCLOSED LOCATION I am a student in a health care profession. I see many different people every day that come to seek treatment at my school. Most patients are local to our area, but many come to our school’s clinic from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. Our curriculum has recently been updated in accordance with the board of accreditation that our state mandates for professional schools. This curriculum includes a course entitled ‘Cultural Awareness.’ The goals of the course, as stated by the syllabus and our professor, is to: Emphasize, illustrate and analyze how patient’s background, culture...

5 Year Old New Jersey Girl Died from the MMR Vaccine, Holly’s Law Created
Conclusion We leave you with words from Robin: “My family and I hope that Holly’s story will make a difference and help you realize that you must be aware of the risks of vaccinations, just as you make yourself aware of the risks of any medical procedure. We hope to make change, and one very important improvement must be that the pediatricians acknowledge that there are vaccine reactions, that moderate to serious and even fatal vaccine reactions do exist and occur at least 100 times more than is reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).  We are still very disappointed and disgusted with the actio...

How Aggressive are Your Student’s College Vaccination Policies?
Conclusion College campuses vary in regards to their vaccine policies.  The meningitis vaccine is the most commonly required vaccination for all incoming freshmen, based on the recommendations of the CDC. Several other vaccinations are required and recommended, with much variation by individual colleges. Most universities provide a religious exemption for students, but some do not. It is worthwhile to investigate what your university vaccine policies are, in addition to the exemptions that exist for colleges in which your student has an interest.
