Choosing Fellowship Advice
So after not liking radiology in the beginning, I ultimately decided to stick it out and now I am in my third year. I am going to be applying for fellowship soon and am honestly undecided on what fellowship I want to do. I have ruled out mammography and IR, but the other ones are fair game. I am open to body, neuro, MSK, or even nucs. I honestly do not have a preference for one over the other, but I do enjoy body and nucs. However, I could see myself doing any of these. Anyone have any... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

AI is equal to or superior to radiologists in reading mammograms
AI matches radiologist performance on mammo, DBT exams A meta-analysis encompassing over 1.1 million screening breast imaging exams has concluded that artificial intelligence (AI) software performs equally to or better than radiologists, according to research published May 23 in Radiology. www.auntminnie.com Pretty significant meta analysis. I think the days of saying rads will never be replaced in any capacity by AI are over. Big changes will come in the next 3-4 decades when us med students are practicing (Source: Student Doctor Network)

It's official: AI is more accurate than radiologists when it comes to reading mammograms
AI matches radiologist performance on mammo, DBT exams A meta-analysis encompassing over 1.1 million screening breast imaging exams has concluded that artificial intelligence (AI) software performs equally to or better than radiologists, according to research published May 23 in Radiology. www.auntminnie.com Given how AI has reached this point in under a year after the release of ChatGPT, is it really realistic to say that radiology will still be a viable field in just 5 years? Maybe this wouldn't affect an attending breast rad...

Split between Body vs. Mammography fellowship
Hey everyone, I am a current 2nd year DR resident and split between abdominal imaging vs. mammography fellowships. I really like both but there are some things that I can't shake off. I enjoyed the patient-care side of Mammography I had some bad experiences in my 2nd year rotation that made me rethink my choice. My residency program is amazing with great attendings that let us get involved with almost all mammo procedures, but the second rotation I had unusual experiences with tech passive... Mips
Anyone in here doing the MIPS thing? Which quality measures are you doing? Practice Fusion only supplies a handful of them so I'm asking about colonoscopies and mammograms. It's the box-checking stuff like this that drives me crazy but OTOH several patients have now scheduled these screening tests so it's probably a good thing. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Mammography lifestyle
Could anyone comment on the hours and call burden of a typical mammographer? How busy are the days? Is it the best lifestyle in radiology? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

BRCA1/2 mutation positive, doesnt want surgery
Have you guys ever had a patient in their 40s, rich family history of breast and ovarian cancer, tested positive for the mutation, but does not want any prophylactic surgery. How would you proceed with surveillance? Obviously routine mammography is needed. Would this be an indication for routine pelvic ultrasound (q 1 year)? I read somewhere that sometimes CA 125 is checked as well? (Though i thought tumor markers were more relevant in post diagnosis and prognostic situations) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Health question
Hi guys, I am probably posting in a wrong forum, but could not find where to ask... So what is your opinion on preventive health care, what kind of testing do you recommend to patients besides yearly physicals? Lets say 50-60 -70 etc.. year old. 1) colon cancer screening 2) for women breast cancer screening (mammogram, ), OBGYN papsmear for men prostate screening 3) do you recommend periodically Xray? Tb test? Or only if symptomatic? anything else am I missing? Thank you (Source: Student Doctor Network)

COMLEX PE in few days, need help
For health maintenance cases, what type of questions do I ask. For example, a patient comes in requesting a mammogram or a colonoscopy, what kind of questions do I ask? Can someone give me like a line of questions I can ask for something like this because I'm confused? Also, any final advice? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Female MS3 here thinking of choosing rads in order to do mammo...advice needed, not sure if I "fit in" with rads
Hi! I'm considering doing DR followed by a mammography fellowship. I shadowed mammography for one week over Christmas break and I really enjoyed it and I can see myself doing it. However, when I tell my fellow classmates that I plan on going into DR I get a lot of shocked expressions and the "REALLY? I pegged you as the OBGYN/surgery type!?", "But you're so extroverted!", etc, etc. It's really making me second guess my decision and I'm wondering if I'll like (or be good at) general...
