Environmental quality outlook of the leading oil producers and urbanized African states
This study seeks to explore the links between energy consumption and environmental quality in the wake of rapid urbanization in Africa with empirical insights from the cases of Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, Angola, Egypt, and South Africa. These countries aside from being among the largest economies; are also among the leading energy producers and the most urbanized economies that emit the most carbon dioxide on the continent. Based on the Pooled Mean Group (PMG) panel ARDL estimator, the dynamics nexus between the variables was estimated vis-à-vis the short-run and long-run coefficients using relevant sample data bet...

Immunohistochemical Patterns of Pituitary Adenomas in Southeastern Nigeria, a 10-year Histopathologic Review
Conclusion: PAs predominate amongst males, occurring mostly in the middle age groups in Southeastern Nigeria. Null cell adenoma is the commonest immunohistochemical subtype followed by PRL-secreting adenomas. Routine immunohistochemical characterization is required for accurate diagnosis and optimal patient care.PMID:37575085 | DOI:10.1080/19932820.2023.2245587 (Source: Libyan Journal of Medicine)

Investigating the potential link between lunar cycle and multiple sclerosis relapses: a call for further studies
Libyan J Med. 2023 Dec;18(1):2238354. doi: 10.1080/19932820.2023.2238354.ABSTRACTMultiple sclerosis (MS) is a debilitating disease that causes inflammation of the central nervous system, resulting in myelin damage and axon degeneration. Although the cause of MS remains unknown, various factors such as sex, latitude, sun exposure, serum vitamin D levels, Epstein Barr Virus infection, diet, microbiota and ethnicity are being studied for their potential roles in the development of the disease. While chronobiological factors such as circadian rhythm and seasonality have been explored for their potential influence on the onset,...
