Clinical and anamnestic features of patients with systemic vasculitis: a single-center retrospective study
This study aims to analyze the demographic and clinical-anamnestic characteristics of patients with systemic vasculitides in a single centre before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Kazakhstan. A single-centre retrospective study of medical records of 80 patient s above 18 years was conducted in the Almaty City Rheumatology Center. Medical records of 24 males (30%) and 56 females (70%) with systemic vasculitides, diagnosed from January 2019 to December 2021, were analyzed. Age, gender, damaged organ systems, disability, concomitant diseases, disease experi ence, laboratory data, and other variables were recorded. The re...

Properties of Pasteurella multocida isolated from animals during the seasonal migration of saigas
Braz J Biol. 2024 Feb 26;84:e280780. doi: 10.1590/1519-6984.280780. eCollection 2024.ABSTRACTThe paper describes data from the study of cultural, morphological, and biochemical properties and the pathogenicity and virulence of epizootic isolates of Pasteurella multocida obtained from cattle and saigas. The study aimed to investigate the properties of P. multocida isolated from saigas and cattle during their seasonal migration, with a focus on its role in the epizootic process and potential transmission to farm animals. The research was conducted in a laboratory setting at the West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University. ...

Correlative variation of economically valuable traits in South Kazakh Merino
The objective of our research was to investigate the correlative variability of key economically valuable traits that characterize the overall functional state of sheep organisms under varying environmental conditions. The study was conducted at the "Sharbulak" breeding farms and the "Samat" peasant farms in the Kazygurt district of the Turkestan region. Our findings reveal that one-year-old rams surpass ewes in terms of live weight by 32-37% and in terms of unwashed wool shearing by 21-23%. Two-year-old rams outperform ewes in live weight by 2.15-2.17 times and in unwashed wool shearing by 2.38-2.44 times. The highest phe...

Heritability and amylose content in hybrid lines of late-generation rice with colored pericarp
Braz J Biol. 2024 Feb 26;83:e280919. doi: 10.1590/1519-6984.280919. eCollection 2024.ABSTRACTImproving grain quality in rice breeding is one of the main tasks. This concerns the creation of rice varieties with colored pericarp uncommon in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the assessment of its quality is an important stage of breeding. Rice with colored pericarp is an important dietary crop, more useful for the human body than white rice. Regardless of the type of rice, the amount of amylose in rice grain is a crucial indicator that determines the quality of rice. The paper presents the results of electrophoretic separation ...

Assessment of the state of vegetation cover of recultivated dumps of uranium deposits in Northern Kazakhstan
Braz J Biol. 2024 Feb 26;83:e279616. doi: 10.1590/1519-6984.279616. eCollection 2024.ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to assess the processes of plant community formation on recultivated dumps of spent uranium-containing industrial waste from uranium deposit mines, as well as to identify the degree of impact of agro-climatic factors, agrochemical indicators of soils of recultivated dumps, and the level of residual ionizing radiation on the productivity of the emerging vegetation cover. Studies of plant colonization of recultivated Grachevsky and Shantobinsky uranium mine dumps located in Northern Kazakhstan were carri...
