Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol reduction with immediate combination therapy of statin and ezetimibe compared to statin monotherapy after percutaneous coronary intervention
CONCLUSION: Immediate initiation of high-intensity statin and ezetimibe treatment might be considered as the default strategy in treatment-naïve patients with high admission LDL‑C undergoing PCI.PMID:37874347 | DOI:10.1007/s00508-023-02296-z (Source: Wiener Klinische Wochenschrift)

FOXP3 expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma : Implications for cetuximab sensitivity and therapeutic strategies
CONCLUSION: High FOXP3 expression promotes the proliferation and migration of ESCC cells, while negatively affecting their sensitivity to cetuximab-targeted therapy. Consequently, targeting FOXP3 shows potential therapeutic implications for enhancing the effectiveness of cetuximab treatment in ESCC patients.PMID:37874348 | DOI:10.1007/s00508-023-02291-4 (Source: Wiener Klinische Wochenschrift)

An alternative treatment option in older adults with knee osteoarthritis : Genicular nerve pulsed radiofrequency
Wien Klin Wochenschr. 2023 Oct 20. doi: 10.1007/s00508-023-02287-0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTOsteoarthritis (OA), including knee OA (KOA), is an important cause of morbidity and disability in older adults. Pain management plays a major role in the treatment of KOA for pain relief and knee function improvement. Ultrasound-guided genicular nerve pulsed radiofrequency therapy is an effective, safe, nonradiative, and easily applicable treatment modality in older adults with KOA. It has a positive effect on geriatric syndromes, especially polypharmacy.PMID:37861732 | DOI:10.1007/s00508-023-02287-0 (Source: Wiener Klinische Wochenschrift)
