“It Gives Me, as her Caregiver, a Sense of Security.” Young People with Intellectual Disability and Their Experiences with Sexuality, Menstruation, Gynecological Treatment and Contraception: A Follow-up Analysis of Parents’ and Caregivers’ Perspectives
DiscussionA trusting relationship with the gynecologist favored the compliance and well-being of the young women. The administration of hormonal contraceptives seems to be controlled by third parties. Caregivers used hormonal contraceptives to simplify the regulation of menstruation and felt relieved by it. Carers view the sexual activities of the young women more critically because they fear a pregnancy and the responsibility for a potential grandchild. The use of hormonal contraceptives made carers clearly more tolerant of sexual activity. (Source: Sexuality and Disability)

Decoding Neurodiverse Couples Therapy: A Solution-Focused Approach
This study incorporated both conversational analysis (CA) and observational behavioral coding (OBC) to distinguish “problem talk” and “solution talk” among a neurodiverse couple participating in Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Results indicated increased “problem talk” and lower levels of both types of reinforcement in the partner with ASD versus the neurotypical partner. We conducted a systematic review to understand the knowledge created through qualitative inquiry on the sexuality of youth with physical disabilities. We considered qual...

Healthcare Professionals' Perspectives on Integrating Reproductive and Acute Mental Healthcare
Conclusions: Patients receiving care at this behavioral health hospital have unmet SRHS needs. This lack of care may undermine the health of patients with MI. Addressing system level gaps requires clinical re-prioritization. Promising approaches to address this gap include reverse-integrated care models and improved SRHS training of health professionals.
