Adherence and Persistence to Antiplatelet Therapy in Lower Extremity Peripheral Arterial Disease: A Danish Population Based Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: Less than 60% of patients with newly diagnosed symptomatic PAD claimed a prescription for antiplatelet therapy within 90 days of diagnosis, and both adherence and persistence were moderate during the first year after diagnosis. These findings underscore the importance of efforts to improve the initiation and continuation of antiplatelet therapy in patients with PAD.PMID:38341174 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2024.02.002 (Source: PubMed: Eur J Vasc Endovasc ...)

Self Made Bovine Pericardial Tube Grafts in Aortic Infection: A European Multicentre Study
CONCLUSION: This multicentre study demonstrates low re-infection rates when using self made bovine pericardial grafts, comparable to those of other biological grafts. The rate of graft complications, mainly anastomotic aneurysms and stenoses, was low, while graft degeneration was absent. Self made bovine pericardial tube grafts are an excellent tool for in situ reconstruction in the setting of native aortic infection or aortic graft infection.PMID:38341175 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2024.02.004 (Source: PubMed: Eur J Vasc Endovasc ...)

Epidemiology of Non-Traumatic Lower Extremities Amputations in West Africa: Nationwide Data from Togo
CONCLUSION: This is the first study to report nationwide and contemporary epidemiological data on NT-LLAs in West Africa, highlighting several specificities. Large scale interventions are needed to ameliorate the care of diabetes and PAD and improve facilities for optimal management of patients at risk of amputation in Africa.PMID:38320645 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2024.01.088 (Source: PubMed: Eur J Vasc Endovasc ...)

Dilated Internal Iliac Artery Confers Higher Risk for Endoleak in Iliac Branch Devices in a Single Centre Retrospective Experience
CONCLUSION: IBDs have a statistically significantly higher rate of technical failure, lower freedom from type Ic endoleak, and lower freedom from re-intervention when the IIA is dilated to ≥ 11 mm.PMID:38320646 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejvs.2024.01.087 (Source: PubMed: Eur J Vasc Endovasc ...)
