Clinical Efficacy and Biological Regulations of ω–3 PUFA-Derived Endocannabinoids in Major Depressive Disorder
Conclusions: Treatments enriched with EPA increased plasma EPEA levels, which was positively associated with clinical remission. This finding may suggest that levels of plasma EPEA play a potential novel endogenous therapeutic target in MDD.Psychother Psychosom (Source: Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics)

Long-Term Effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Routine Outpatient Care: A 5- to 20-Year Follow-Up Study
Conclusion: The results point to the long-term effectiveness of CBT under routine conditions for a wide array of problems, especially when compared to the long-term effects of medical treatment. It is noteworthy that the results at follow-up were even better than at posttreatment, indicating further improvement. However, about a quarter of the patients did not respond sufficiently to therapy, neither concerning short-term nor long-term effects.Psychother Psychosom (Source: Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics)

Two-Year Follow-Up after Treatment with the Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy versus Supportive Psychotherapy for Early-Onset Chronic Depression
Conclusions: CBASP lost its superiority over SP at some point between the first and the second year. This suggests the necessity of maintenance treatment for early-onset chronically depressed patients remitted with CBASP during the acute therapy phase, as well as the sequential integration of other treatment strategies, including medication for those who did not reach remission.Psychother Psychosom (Source: Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics)

IMPULS: Impulsivity-Focused Group Intervention to Reduce Binge Eating Episodes in Patients with Binge Eating Disorder – A Randomised Controlled Trial
Conclusions: The IMPULS study has a negative primary outcome. However, secondary outcomes indicate that the IMPULS treatment might be promising, as BE, eating pathology and depression were reduced in the IMPULS group. The initially reduced BE in the control group might represent a short-term effect from the self-observations. General impulsivity and BMI might need a longer time or more intensive treatment to change.Psychother Psychosom (Source: Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics)

Have Treatment Studies of Depression Become Even Less Generalizable? Applying the Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria in Placebo-Controlled Antidepressant Efficacy Trials Published over 20 Years to a Clinical Sample
Conclusions: Only a minority of depressed patients seen in clinical practice are likely to be eligible for most AETs. The generalizability of AETs has decreased over time. It is unclear how generalizable the results of AETs are to patients treated in real-world clinical practice.Psychother Psychosom (Source: Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics)

Higher in vivo Cortical Intracellular Volume Fraction Associated with Lithium Therapy in Bipolar Disorder: A Multicenter NODDI Study
Conclusions: This is the first study to report in vivo evidence of preserved neurite density of the prefrontal cortex in humans associated with lithium intake. Changes of intracellular volume fraction are thought to reflect changes of grey matter microstructural organization. This reinforces the hypothesis of lithium having a positive effect on the neuronal compartment in humans.Psychother Psychosom (Source: Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics)
