Analgesic Efficacy of Ketoprofen Transdermal Patch versus Ibuprofen Oral Tablet on Postendodontic Pain in Patients with Irreversible Pulpitis: A Randomized Clinical Trial
CONCLUSION: Both KTP and ibuprofen effectively decreased postendodontic pain. Considering the comparable pattern of pain reduction, KTP can be used as an alternative to ibuprofen tablets for effective pain control after endodontic treatment of mandibular first and second molars with irreversible pulpitis.PMID:37324280 | PMC:PMC10266914 | DOI:10.1155/2023/8549655 (Source: Pain Research and Management)

Effects of the MR-DTI Characteristics of the Trigeminal Ganglion Target on Radiofrequency Treatment in Patients with Trigeminal Neuralgia: A Retrospective Observational Clinical Study
CONCLUSIONS: The characteristics of the TGT are correlated with the number of punctures in the PSR. The application of MR-DTI for detecting the size of the TGT is an important step in predicting the difficulty of puncture. The PSR approach can be guided by the TGT and FO for TN patients who present with multiple adverse factors and thus may be beneficial in reducing the number of complications.PMID:37324281 | PMC:PMC10266916 | DOI:10.1155/2023/1988926 (Source: Pain Research and Management)

Mechanism and Pharmacodynamic Substance Basis of Raw and Wine-Processed < em > Evodia rutaecarpa < /em > on Smooth Muscle Cells of Dysmenorrhea Mice
CONCLUSION: Our finding suggested that the compounds of the PER were different from those of the raw ER, and 7-hydroxycoumarin, chlorogenic acid, and limonin could improve dysmenorrhea in mice whose uterine smooth muscle cell contraction was closed with endocrine factors and P2X3-Ca2+ pathway.PMID:37305097 | PMC:PMC10250099 | DOI:10.1155/2023/7711988 (Source: Pain Research and Management)

Association of < em > COMT < /em > Val158Met Polymorphism with Fibromyalgia in Khartoum State, Sudan
Pain Res Manag. 2023 Jun 3;2023:7313578. doi: 10.1155/2023/7313578. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTFibromyalgia (FM) is a disorder characterized by chronic musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and cognitive problems. Neurotransmitters, mainly catecholamines, appear to be involved in regulating the etiology of FM. Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) is involved in catabolizing catecholamines such as norepinephrine. The most common variant studied in the COMT gene is the valine (Val) to methionine (Met) substitution at codon 158. This is the first study in Sudan addressing FM cases and genetic susceptibility to the disease. We aimed in ...
