Japan Trevo Registry: Real-world Registry of Stent Retriever Alone or in Combined Therapy with Aspiration Catheter for Acute Ischemic Stroke in Japan
Neurol Med Chir (Tokyo). 2023 Oct 18. doi: 10.2176/jns-nmc.2023-0069. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEndovascular therapy (EVT) for real-world patients after extended time frames is associated with concerns about its efficacy and safety. We conducted a prospective registry at 77 centers between November 2019 and October 2020. The registry criteria included patients treated with Trevo Retriever alone or in combined therapy with an aspiration catheter. The primary outcome was effective reperfusion (thrombolysis in cerebral infarction grade ≥ 2b), the secondary outcome was a modified Rankin scale 0-2 at 90 days, and the safe...

Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion within Three-level for Patients with Neurological Symptoms due to Vertebral Fragility Fractures in the Lumbar Spine
Neurol Med Chir (Tokyo). 2023 Oct 18. doi: 10.2176/jns-nmc.2023-0064. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThere is a lack of agreement on whether minimally invasive lateral lumbar intervertebral fusion (LLIF) is a suitable treatment option for vertebral fragility fractures (VFFs). Hence, we sought to evaluate the efficacy and safety of LLIF in the management of VFF with neurological deficits in the lumbar spine. Between April 2015 and March 2020, we conducted a retrospective observational study of patients with VFF treated with three-level or less LLIF. The participants had previously received conservative treatment but had not ...

Analysis of False-negative Findings of the Incomparable Accuracy and Swiftness of Flow Cytometric Diagnosis of Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma
This study aimed to reveal the utility of FCM diagnosis for PCNSL and the cause of false-negative results of FCM diagnosis. We investigated 33 patients with suspected PCNSL on neuroradiological findings and received both FCM and histological diagnosis. The patients' electronic medical records were investigated, and histological findings, results of FCM, and other clinical data were evaluated. Overall, 27 patients (14 males and 13 females) were diagnosed with PCNSL by histological confirmation. The median age at diagnosis was 68 years. FCM analysis showed lymphoma pattern in 24 cases; however, FCM results did not show lymph...
