Comparison of early wound healing using modified papilla preservation technique between enamel matrix derivative and recombinant human fibroblast growth factor
CONCLUSIONS: Within the limitations of this study, the findings suggest that early wound healing following the use of mPPT with rhFGF-2 is somewhat superior to that observed after mPPT with EMD. However, mEHI should be improved for use as a predictive tool for early wound healing and to reflect clinical outcomes after surgery.PMID:38014774 | DOI:10.5051/jpis.2303080154 (Source: Journal of Periodontal and Implant Science)

Association between dietary quality and the prevalence of periodontitis in older Korean adults aged 60 or over
CONCLUSIONS: Dietary quality was inversely associated with the prevalence of periodontitis in Korean adults aged ≥60 years. Further comprehensive studies are needed to help establish nutrition and health policies for older adults in Korea.PMID:38014775 | DOI:10.5051/jpis.2301840092 (Source: Journal of Periodontal and Implant Science)

Effects of adjacent periodontitis on osseointegrated dental implants
CONCLUSIONS: The presence of periodontitis in adjacent teeth can pose a risk to dental implants, potentially resulting in peri-implantitis. However, this was not observed for apical periodontitis. Within the limitations of this study, periodontal care is necessary to reduce the impact of periodontitis in adjacent teeth on osseointegrated implants.PMID:38014772 | DOI:10.5051/jpis.2302400120 (Source: Journal of Periodontal and Implant Science)

Is drug use associated with the presence of periodontitis and oral lesions? A meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Drug users are more likely to develop oral lesions and periodontitis than non-users. However, the results should be interpreted with caution, considering the heterogeneity and quality of the studies included in the analysis.PMID:38014773 | DOI:10.5051/jpis.2302920146 (Source: Journal of Periodontal and Implant Science)
