Concentrations, distribution, and key influencing factors of antibiotic resistance genes and bacterial community in water and reared fish tissues in a typical tilapia farm in South China
This study investigated the concentration, propagation, and distribution of ARGs and bacterial communities in water sources, pond water, and tilapia tissues, and their key influencing factors, in a typical tilapia farm. ErmF, sul1, and sul2 were the dominant ARGs with high concentrations. The total concentrations of ARGs (TCAs) in tilapia tissues decreased in the following order: stomach > scales > intestine > gills (P < 0.05). Redundancy analysis and multiple linear regression revealed that suspended solids (SS) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) were positively correlated with the dominant ARGs ermF sul2, and t...

J Environ Sci Health B. 2023 Nov 15:1-8. doi: 10.1080/03601234.2023.2273773. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPesticides are on the list of substances that are routinely monitored by agencies and organizations in various natural environments and habitats. Diazinon (DZN) is the active ingredient in more than 20 agricultural pesticides, it causes the most damage and has been prohibited in many countries around the world. The final product CoWO4/g-C3N4 Z-scheme heterojunction was successfully synthesized in this work, where CoWO4 nanoparticles were deposited on the surface of g-C3N4. CoWO4/g-C3N4 structure allowed for the effici...

Prospects for application of microorganisms in bioremediation of soils contaminated with pesticides
J Environ Sci Health B. 2023 Nov 15:1-6. doi: 10.1080/03601234.2023.2281197. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe contamination of soil with residual amounts of pesticides remains an urgent challenge for human community. The most efficient approach to address this challenge is the direct microbial degradation of a pesticide in agricultural lands. To this end, the selected microorganisms, which quickly and completely utilize pesticides, are employed. In the present work, two herbicides belonging to different classes of chemical compounds, that is, imazamox and chlorsulfuron were used. The screening of promising microorganisms ...
