Patient characteristics and outcome of CD20-positive HIV-associated lymphoma: a single-center KwaZulu-Natal, South African hospital 12-year retrospective review
CONCLUSION: Although the clinical characteristics and laboratory findings are similar to other higher-income cohorts, there was a difference in gender and incidence of marrow involvement. The low incidence of marrow involvement has prompted more routine use of immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry in staging marrows of HAL locally. Further randomized studies are required for the establishment of locally validated, cost-effective treatment guidelines.PMID:35909189 | DOI:10.1186/s43046-022-00131-6 (Source: J Egypt Natl Canc In...)

Her2/EGFR-PDGFR pathway aberrations associated with tamoxifen response in metastatic breast cancer patients
CONCLUSIONS: Genetic profiling using simple quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) protocols could be used to assess response to tamoxifen treatment in MBC patients. According to our data, a five-gene panel in the EGFR pathway (JAK1, COL1A1, GAB1, FN1 and MKNK1) could be used to categorize MBC patients into groups according to treatment response.PMID:35871690 | DOI:10.1186/s43046-022-00132-5 (Source: J Egypt Natl Canc In...)

Prognostic significance of STAT3 gene expression in patients with glioblastoma tumors: a study from Western India
CONCLUSION: For GBM tumors, STAT3 up-regulation and presence of IDH mutations together predicts better survival. This reflects unique molecular etiology for GBM patients. Therefore, they would be useful in the future for targeted therapy and for clinicians they would be useful for better patient management. However, study on a larger sample size is required for validation.PMID:35844028 | DOI:10.1186/s43046-022-00133-4 (Source: J Egypt Natl Canc In...)
