Evaluation of properties of elastomeric head straps of filtering facepiece respirators
This study investigates the loss of elasticity of head straps during repeated use. Five elastomeric tapes were tested as FFR head straps, and their tensile strength was measured using a DU-100 dynamometer after repeated donning and doffing cycles. After eight consecutive uses, the protection factor drops significantly, requiring strap length adjustments to guarantee the specified level of user protection. The maximum tensile force of the elastomeric head straps causes residual elongation, which remains consistent after eight cycles. The study also establishes how strap elongation depends on force and number of donning and ...

Research on Post Competency Model of Civil Aviation Flight Cadets
Int J Occup Saf Ergon. 2023 Sep 13:1-33. doi: 10.1080/10803548.2023.2259165. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe initial evaluation index system of civil aviation flight cadets' competency was established by using Nvivo 11.0 software through qualitative analysis. The competency evaluation index system of civil aviation flight cadets was determined by using questionnaire surveys and SPSS 26.0 software, which includes four dimensions: core quality, ethical discipline, psychological quality and leadership, and other 23 indexes. The competency model was constructed by using AMOS 23.0 software through factor analysis and structur...

Comparative study of FTA and 24Model: Taking the cause analysis of the Quanzhou Xinjia hotel collapse accident as an example
Int J Occup Saf Ergon. 2023 Sep 13:1-36. doi: 10.1080/10803548.2023.2259698. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA comparative study was conducted to compare the accident cause analysis methods of Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and 24Model. A major accident - Xinjia Hotel collapse accident was selected as the research object, the causes of the accident were reanalysed and accident prevention countermeasures were designed based on 24Model and FTA respectively, and the systematic characteristics of 24Model were summarized. The research shows that both 24Model and FTA can carry out risk assessment, accident cause analysis and preventive...
