Th1/Th2 cytokine profile in patients with acute and chronic calculus cholecystitis
Eur Cytokine Netw. 2023 Sep 1;34(3):22-28. doi: 10.1684/ecn.2023.0488.ABSTRACTRelatively little is known about the relationship between Th1/Th2 cytokines and calculus cholecystitis (CC). The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between serum Th1 and Th2 cytokine expression and CC, including both acute and chronic cases. In total, 102 patients with chronic calculous cholecystitis (CCC), 64 patients with acute calculous cholecystitis (ACC), and 55 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited for the study. Serum concentration of Th1 (IL-2, TNF-α, IFN-γ) and Th2 cytokines (IL-4, IL-6, IL-10) was measured at adm...

Thymic stromal lymphopoietin suppresses markers of neuroinflammation and the JAK2/STAT5 pathway in activated microglia
In this study, we used a model of LPS-stimulated microglia to investigate the direct impact of TSLP on microglial activation and the underlying mechanism. We measured oxidative stress, expression of microglial activation markers, and inflammatory indexes. The results show that TSLP treatment increased the expression of TSLP receptors and reduced LPS-induced oxidative stress, inflammation, and the expression of M1-type markers in microglia. Interestingly, TSLP treatment also influenced the differentiation of microglia towards the M2 type, suppressing LPS-induced activation, mediated by the JAK2/STAT5 pathway. Moreover, TSLP...
