Corrigendum to “Participation in an HIV prevention intervention and access to and use of contraceptives among young women: A cross-sectional analysis in six South African districts” [Contraception 116 (2022) 51–58]
The authors regret the oversight of table labeling and placement in the manuscript. Particularly, the misrepresentation of Box 1 as Table 6; this is incorrectly labeled, and we sincerely apologize for this oversight. The Table 6 icon at the bottom of page 55 should be placed at the bottom of page 52 as Box 1, and the Table 6 at the top of page 57 should be moved up as Box 1 to page 52, before the results section. Society of Family Planning Clinical Recommendation: Management of hemorrhage at the time of abortion
Hemorrhage after abortion is rare, occurring in fewer than 1% of abortions, but associated morbidity may be significant. Although medication abortion is associated with more bleeding than procedural abortion, overall bleeding for the two methods is minimal and not clinically different. Hemorrhage can be caused by atony, coagulopathy and abnormal placentation, as well as by such procedure complications as perforation, cervical laceration and retained tissue. Evidence on which to make recommendations regarding risk factors and treatment for postabortion hemorrhage is extremely limited. (Source: Contraception)
