Contraceptive efficacy should primarily be measured using life table pregnancy rates
Contraceptive users have always deserved accurate and easy to understand information about the pregnancy risk associated with different contraceptive methods. After the recent Dobbs vs. Jackson decision in which the Supreme Court held that the right to privacy stipulation in the United States Constitution does not include abortion, reproductive health access and choices have become severely more limited [1,2]. Sexually active couples are urgently reevaluating their contraceptive options and now, more than ever, deserve the most accurate and understandable information on how well methods work.
