Beneficial effects of oral antioxidant supplementation on semen quality parameters, reproductive hormones, and sperm DNA integrity in men with idiopathic oligoasthenoteratozoospermia
CONCLUSION: Supplementation with SP-Power tablets improved sperm quality parameters, sperm DFI, some reproductive hormones, and pregnancy rates in men with infertility and idiopathic OAT, which could be attributed to the supplement's synergistic antioxidant action. Further studies are needed to determine the effects of supplementation on oxidative stress markers.PMID:38525521 | DOI:10.5653/cerm.2023.06555 (Source: Clinical and Experimental Reproductive Medicine)

COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) mRNA vaccination does not affect basal sex hormone levels (follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, estradiol) in reproductive-age women
CONCLUSION: This study showed no significant differences in basal hormone levels (FSH, LH, and estradiol) before and after SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination.PMID:38525522 | DOI:10.5653/cerm.2023.06107 (Source: Clinical and Experimental Reproductive Medicine)

Comparative analysis of conventional in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome, tubal factor infertility, and unexplained infertility whose partners exhibit normal semen parameters: a retrospective study of sibling oocytes
CONCLUSION: Our results indicated that the conventional IVF method was associated with higher zygote production and a higher proportion of grade A embryos when all infertile groups were evaluated together. Thus, ICSI is not suggested for patients with these causes of infertility if their partner has normal semen parameters.PMID:38525518 | DOI:10.5653/cerm.2023.06408 (Source: Clinical and Experimental Reproductive Medicine)

Outcomes of female reproductive performance with assisted reproductive techniques after recent mild to moderate COVID-19 infections: An observational study
CONCLUSION: PGT-A demonstrated beneficial effects in high-risk patients. However, our findings indicate that these benefits are more pronounced in carefully selected candidates than in the entire high-risk patient population.PMID:38525519 | DOI:10.5653/cerm.2023.06352 (Source: Clinical and Experimental Reproductive Medicine)

In vivo and in vitro sperm production: an overview of the challenges and advances in male fertility restoration
Clin Exp Reprod Med. 2024 Mar 25. doi: 10.5653/cerm.2023.06569. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMale infertility can be caused by genetic anomalies, endocrine disorders, inflammation, and exposure to toxic chemicals or gonadotoxic treatments. Therefore, several recent studies have concentrated on the preservation and restoration of fertility to enhance the quality of life for affected individuals. It is currently recommended to biobank the tissue extracted from testicular biopsies to provide a later source of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs). Another successful approach has been the in vitro production of haploid male germ c...
