Resilience in the context of dementia family caregiver mental health: A concept analysis
Resilience has been identified as a key concept for dementia family caregiver mental health; however, the concept is not well defined. A concept analysis examining dementia caregiver resilience was conducted using Rodger's Evolutionary Method. The aim of this concept analysis was to describe the historical perspective, attributes, antecedents, and consequences of resilience as it relates to dementia caregiver mental health. Key attributes of dementia caregiver resilience were acceptance, coping strategies, social support, self-appraisal, and spirituality. (Source: Archives of Psychiatric Nursing)

A narrative inquiry into caregivers' experiences and management after a relative's suicide attempt in a rural community in Northeast Thailand
This study reports a narrative inquiry using a social constructionist perspective to investigate how caregivers in rural northeast Thailand describe their experiences and management strategies following a family member's suicide attempt. From thematic analysis, three themes emerged: (1) distress and embarrassment, (2) managing to prevent re-attempts, and (3) letting go and moving on with my life. The implications discussed for mental health professionals include recognizing caregivers' experiences and developing more effective ways to manage the risk of future attempts. Attitudes toward dating violence among Turkish university students: The relationships with self-esteem level and gender roles
The current study aimed to determine the relationships between attitudes toward dating violence, self-esteem, and gender roles. Men supported dating violence more than women, and the attitudes toward gender roles and self-esteem level were found to have a significant positive correlation with attitudes toward dating violence. For women, attitudes toward gender roles and levels of self-esteem predicted attitudes toward dating violence. The only significant variable in predicting attitudes toward dating violence in men was their attitude toward gender roles. (Source: Archives of Psychiatric Nursing)

Dynamic changes in resilience among family caregivers in the face of healthcare challenges: A scoping review
Resilience as a dynamic concept has already been described through various longitudinal studies. To better understand the changes in the resilience of caregivers over the course of care-providing, however, a scoping review can provide a clearer picture of their resilience process which, in turn, can be used to improve caregivers' well-being. Implementation of a self-help mobile mental health app in COVID-19 frontline health care workers: A quality improvement project
Frontline health care workers (FHCWs) have endured a range of adverse mental health outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the widespread availability and ease-of-use of self-help mobile mental health apps, little is known about the feasibility of implementing such tools among COVID-19 FHCWs in real-world nursing settings. A comparative perspective on COVID-19 stress levels in Hong Kong and Taiwan
I am writing in response to the recently published article, “Adapting the COVID Stress Scale (CSS) to investigate the level of stress among Hong Kong Chinese people 1 year after the COVID-19 pandemic” (Liu et al., 2023). As a practicing psychiatrist in Taiwan, I found the study both timely and compelling, especially in light of the parallel study conduct ed by my colleagues, Wu et al. titled, “The impact of COVID-19 stressors on psychological distress and suicidality in a nationwide community survey in Taiwan,” (Wu et al., 2022) published in Scientific Reports. Associations among internalized and perceived stigma, state mindfulness, self-efficacy, and depression symptoms among men who have sex with men in China: A serial mediation model
Previous research has demonstrated that the stigma is strongly related to depressive symptoms among men who have sex with men (MSM). However, data are limited regarding the associations between stigma, state mindfulness, self-efficacy, and depression symptoms. The current study aimed to analyze state mindfulness and self-efficacy as possible mediators between internalized and perceived stigma and depression symptoms. A sample of 2610 Chinese MSM (Mage  = 23.99, SD = 6.09, age range: 18–68 years) was recruited from an online survey platform and completed the HIV and Homosexuality Related Stigma Scale, Patient He...

Post traumatic growth among military enroute care nurses: A secondary analysis
To date, little is known about the experience of military nurses and post traumatic growth (PTG). An analysis focusing on PTG was performed using data from the surveys and qualitative interviews of military enroute care nurses. In a mixed methods study designed to understand behavioral health symptoms experienced by military enroute care nurses, the qualitative data confirmed the experiences of nurses found in the quantitative data regarding the presence of PTG. Although the mean PTG total score was low in the quantitative findings, the qualitative data supported the presence of important factors comprising PTG. (Source: A...

Systemic relations among the variables involved in occupational accidents of the nursing team in a psychiatric hospital
