Emotional and physical-related experiences as potential mechanisms linking physical inactivity and happiness in old age: Evidence from the Ghana Aging, Health, Psychological Well-being, and Health-seeking Behavior Study
This study examines the association between physical inactivity (PI) and happiness among Ghanaian older adults and whether emotional and physical-related experiences (EPE) mediate the association. Data from the Aging, Health, Psychological Well-being and Health-seeking Behavior Study (AgeHeaPsyWel –HeaSeeB) conducted in 2016–2017 among 1201 older Ghanaians were analyzed. Happiness was assessed with the self-rated and cross-culturally validated item on a 5-point scale. PI was evaluated with the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Turkish validity and reliability of parenting stress scale for clinical nurses
The aim of this study is to conduct the validity and reliability study of Parenting Stress Scale for Clinical Nurses. Sample of the study consisted of 202 nurses who were working as clinical nurse in the hospital, who had children between the ages of 3 and 6 and who volunteered to participate in the study. The scale consists of 17 items and 4 factors as “psychological burden”, “physical and mental fatigue”, “shift”, and “work environment”. The lived experience of psychiatric-mental health nurses working with dissociative disorder inpatients: A phenomenological inquiry
This study sought to address this scarcity of literature by shedding light on the lived experiences of nurses who directly care or have cared for this population. Participants were individually interviewed along the lines of training, education, and personal experiences, and responses were analyzed to uncover themes found in multiple interviews. Honoring Indigenous Nurse Researchers
This editorial is dedicated to all the indigenous peoples and nurse researchers in our midst. I had the pleasure of attending the 3rd Indigenous Nurse Researcher Summit in Austin, Texas from November 3 –5, 2022. The 1st Summit was held in Florida in 2017 and the 2nd in Australia in 2019. Due to Covid-19, this Summit was delayed by one year. The fourth Summit is scheduled to be in New Zealand in 2024.
