Daily Living Difficulties and SCI Difficulties during the COVID-19 Pandemic among People with Spinal Cord Injury: A Cohort Study
To 1) describe the self-reported difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic on the lives of persons with traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) and 2) identify the factors measured prior the pandemic that predict the number of daily living difficulties (difficulties to get food, medication, and routine medical/dental care) and SCI difficulties (difficulties to get treatment for SCI-related problems, to maintain regular SCI equipment, and to get SCI supplies) during the pandemic. NVG-291 Phase 1 Results and Phase 1b/2a Study Design in Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury
To provide an update on the development of NVG-291 for spinal cord injury (SCI). There is a high unmet need for treatments to repair damage after SCI. A Phase 1 safety trial of NVG-291 (a receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase sigma peptide mimetic) in 70 healthy subjects supports a Phase 1b/2a efficacy/safety trial in individuals with SCI. Doses tested overlap with and exceed equivalent efficacious doses in animal models of acute/chronic SCI. (Source: Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation)

Re-Branding Yoga: The Development of a ‘High Intensity Stretching’ Program for Veterans with Chronic Low Back Pain
Yoga is a front-line treatment for low back pain, however, yoga adoption among Veterans remains low. One potential barrier to adoption may be Veteran perceptions of yoga, including often inaccurate beliefs of what engaging in yoga entails and how participation may be viewed by others. Our objective was to develop an alternative yoga program for Veterans with chronic low back pain, to facilitate their uptake and sustained use of yoga. Rates of Perceived Cognitive Exertion are Elevated in Older Adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment during Rhythmic Motor-Cognitive Tasks
The Borg Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) measures an individual's self-perceived physical exertion. We developed an analogous 10-point category cognitive scale to estimate participants ’ rates of perceived cognitive exertion (RPCE). We evaluated and compared RPCE, RPE, and heart rate (HR) in older adults with and without Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) during rhythm-based motor-cognitive tasks.
