How is variability in physiological responses to social stress related to punishment and reward sensitivities? Preliminary findings from the revised reinforcement sensitivity theory of personality perspective
CONCLUSION: Results were generally in line with the revised theory. The study findings were discussed within the paradigm of the approach-avoidance conflict and highlighted the importance of reward sensitivity in stress resilience.PMID:38053395 | DOI:10.1080/10615806.2023.2290667 (Source: Anxiety, Stress, and Coping)

Anxiety in a COVID-19 school year context: three-way longitudinal study on Slovenian adolescent sample
CONCLUSIONS: The findings show significant effects of: (a) gender, school level and academic achievement on initial levels of COVID-19 anxiety; (b) gender and school level on initial levels of anxiety; (c) gender on the rate of change in anxiety; (d) academic achievement on the rate of change in COVID-19 anxiety; and, additionally, (e) the significant but different role that school belongingness plays in anxiety and in particular COVID-19 anxiety.PMID:38049932 | DOI:10.1080/10615806.2023.2269858 (Source: Anxiety, Stress, and Coping)

Sources of stress among domestic and international students: a cross-sectional study of university students in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
In this study, we aimed to investigate associations of student status (international vs domestic student in the Netherlands) with eight common sources of stress (i.e., financial, health, love life, relationship with family, relationship with people at work/ school, the health of loved ones, other problems of loved ones, and life in general). A long and resilient life: the role of coping strategies and variability in their use in lifespan among women
CONCLUSIONS: Findings confirm the adaptive and maladaptive nature of specific coping strategies, and further suggest benefits from both moderate and greater variability in their use for lifespan among women.PMID:38031408 | DOI:10.1080/10615806.2023.2288333 (Source: Anxiety, Stress, and Coping)

A stress-is-enhancing mindset is associated with lower traumatic stress symptoms during the COVID-19 pandemic
CONCLUSIONS: Results suggest a more positive stress mindset is associated with fewer traumatic stress symptoms following a traumatic life event. Altering stress mindset may be an avenue for future interventions to cope with stress.PMID:37968945 | DOI:10.1080/10615806.2023.2282092 (Source: Anxiety, Stress, and Coping)
