E-Learning Simulations for Teaching Clinical Decision-Making in an Audiology Training Program
CONCLUSION: The data support that an e-simulation-based approach in clinical education presents pedagogical benefits and can provide a meaningful sustainable inclusion in today's clinical teaching programs.PMID:37678161 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJA-22-00210 (Source: American Journal of Audiology)

The Interaural Time Difference for High-Pass Filtered Noise and Its Relationship With Brainstem Dysfunction and Disability in Multiple Sclerosis
CONCLUSIONS: This study supports the findings that JND-ITD for high-pass filtered noise is a sensitive test to detect lesions along the auditory system. Even though JND-ITD thresholds did not relate with BFSS and EDSS scores, JND-ITD abnormalities can be of great value in identifying lesions along the auditory system, especially in the early stages of MS, when clinical neurological examination does not show any signs of brainstem dysfunction, disability, and MRI without any lesions in the brain.PMID:37678147 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJA-22-00184 (Source: American Journal of Audiology)

Self-Reported Hearing Loss Is Associated With Poorer Health Care Access, Delays, and Communication With Providers During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Findings From the Survey of the Health of Wisconsin COVID-19 Community Impact Survey
CONCLUSIONS: The impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on difficulties accessing and using health care are likely exacerbated for individuals with hearing loss. There is a need for interventions that will optimize health care experiences for individuals with hearing loss, particularly when face masks and/or telecommunications are used to provide health care services.PMID:37672780 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJA-22-00223 (Source: American Journal of Audiology)

Multifrequency Analysis of Masseter Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials in Young Adults
CONCLUSION: The present revealed higher response rates and larger amplitudes study of mVEMP at lower frequencies, and, therefore, the frequency tuning was seen for the stimulation frequency at 500 Hz.PMID:37668536 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJA-23-00028 (Source: American Journal of Audiology)

Factors Associated With Hearing Aid Outcomes Including Social Networks, Self-Reported Mental Health, and Service Delivery Models
CONCLUSIONS: Novel factors including social network of persons with hearing loss who use hearing aids, self-reported mental health, service delivery model, and work situation are significant contributors to hearing aid outcomes. These newly identified factors can inform public hearing health promotion and individualized audiological care to optimize hearing aid outcomes.SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL: https://doi.org/10.23641/asha.24060486.PMID:37669616 | DOI:10.1044/2023_AJA-22-00206 (Source: American Journal of Audiology)
