Sleepio becomes first digital therapeutic to receive NICE guidance (MobiHealthNews):
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recommended the Sleepio app as an effective alternative to sleeping pills.
In its guidance, NICE states the app, created by digital therapeutics (DTx) firm Big Health, is a safe and effective treatment for people suffering from insomnia.

Matthew Holt categorized the triple-merger between Cricket Health, Fresenius Health Partners, and InterWell Health as a “take out merger” — proposing that Fresenius orchestrated the deal to “take out” rising-star kidney care startup, Cricket Health. This study found that top-rated plans had the greatest disparities in health outcomes between low and high socioeconomic status, Black and White members, and Hispanic and White members. Research assessing hospital readmission rates among Medicare enrollees quantifies the stark differences among those with Advantage plans. Black patients with traditional Medicare were 33% more likely to be readmitted within 30 days as compared to their White counterparts, whereas Black patients with Medicare Advantage were 64% more likely to be readmitted as compared to White patients.
