Reduction of Malaria in U.S. Residents Returning from Overseas Travel to Malaria-Endemic Countries
The objectives of this FOA will be to design qualitative and quantitative studies to document the barriers that exist in various VFR communities leading to increased risk of malaria while traveling, use this knowledge obtained to design and implement targeted intervention programs to reduce disease risk and better protect travelers, document the reduction of disease in these communities, and develop an approach that can be applied to VFR communities nationwide to reduce malaria disease burden.
