Grand Opening Ceremony for the NIEHS Net Zero Energy Warehouse
The new NIEHS warehouse is the first facility of its kind within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), designed to produce as much energy as it uses. It has a photovoltaic roof, and we are hopeful that it will earn a LEED platinum rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. The new warehouse also increases processing capacity to keep pace with a growing research enterprise, and strengthens security on campus by routing commercial delivery vehicles away from the NIEHS workforce, critical infrastructure, the data center, and the child care center.
