COVID-19 Prompt Secondary Question
Please describe if and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected your preparation for applying to medical school. (750 chars) What exactly is this question asking? Does it want me to state challenges, and how I overcame those challenges? Can I also explain what I learned while working with a pt population that was against vaccines or is that not relevant to the question and how I will apply my lesson as a physician? WAMC cGPA: 3.88, sGPA: 3.96, MCAT 518
Hey everyone! I am a traditional applicant who is applying in the current cycle. My goal is to get into a T20 program. I believe my research work is lacking because I do not have a publication; however, I have spent a significant time in the lab and have been employed in 2 facilities. I also think my shadowing (50 hours) is a little low, but COVID-19 made it extremely difficult to collect hours, so not sure what medical schools are looking for. I have already submitted my primary... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Writing secondaries (approach via buckets)
Do any of you have any tips on writing secondaries? I put all my prompts in like 15 different buckets. I figured I'd write something for each bucket. So I have buckets like Covid-19, overcoming adversity, diversity, etc. After writing buckets, I figured I'd have submission material for any school and could just frankestein a secondary essay together with my various bucket essays. Do you think this is a smart way to approach writing secondaries or should I just jump into it and start writing... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
