Symptoms and Disability after Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: A Five-Year Follow-up
CONCLUSIONS: Five years after suffering mTBI, patients reported high rates of symptoms and disabilities. Our findings suggest that tailored rehabilitation interventions should be designed to identify mTBI patients in need of early rehabilitation. This would result in minimized suffering for the individual and improved cost-effectiveness for society.PMID:38419456 | DOI:10.31083/j.jin2302045 (Source: Journal of Integrative Neuroscience)

Comparison of Visual Symptom Frequency and Occupational Issues Between Patients With and Without Concussion
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Concussion has a detrimental effect on vision and occupation, and occupational therapy practitioners are well-positioned to assess and address issues arising from this relationship. Plain-Language Summary: Vision symptoms commonly experienced after a concussion are associated with reduced occupational performance and satisfaction and can have a considerable impact on recovery. Occupational therapy assessment for clients with concussion should include screening for vision difficulties.PMID:38422432 | DOI:10.5014/ajot.2024.050353 (Source: The American Journal of Occupational Therapy)
